WITH A LINEBACKER'S PHYSIQUE! PAVAROTTI GIRTH, WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE POWER OF HIS SOUND, WAS FLAB- 375 POUNDS OF IT! THIS GUY IS LIE A WELL CONDITIONED ATHLETE...AND IS VOICE IS MAGNIFICENT!!!
@@chrissy1310 His name is Rodrick Dixon; he's from the group formerly known as 3 Mo' Tenors (along with Thomas Young and Victor Trent Cook). The 3 went on to rename themselves Cook, Dixon, and Young. The name "3 Mo' Tenors" continued with different singers, but these 3 singers were the original and I believe they were the best. They had a show on PBS that went to DVD and VHS, and I believe most of the song clips from the show are on RU-vid.
I've loved this performance since I was roughly 12/13 and I'm 31 now! Im 34 now and my autistic soon to be 6 year old daughter loves this as well!!!! #OperaSnobSinceBirth
The entire performance was magnificent! Growing up in music and the world of performing arts, I received exceptional training from Classical, to Gospel. This night was heavenly divine.
Screw all these expert opinions....this guy kicks it! (note: my father-in-law was a self-ordained expert...he thought Luciano was "sloppy". No pleasing some people)
Such great voices full of passion and the cry to be heard by the entire World! I wish I knew where to find the recorded music. The language is that of France. I surmise that these are Afro-Franco men of immeasurable talent. In any case and every case, I wish them the very best.
I read all of the armchair-damnation before hearing the fellow sing. His voice may not be quite as Pavarotti's, but he does a damn credible job. To say that the aria "is not for him", that he sounds "horrible"..."like a frog"--is JUST your condescending bigotry. He was splendid.
Absolutely agree!!! He does an admirable job and all this hate shows his ignorant most of the listeners are. He may not be a paragon or exemplar of the human voice but he is doing just fine and better than most!!!
Nope he sounds like a frog and this is pretty bad, not horrible but bad and there is nothing condisendingly bigoted about it. I will give him credit though, for getting through a very difficult aria whilst singing with what sounds like his tongue pushed down his throat. Not easy!
Powerful version of this aria -- other tenors I have heard don't measure up, including Poveratti!! Based on how he expressed himself in this aria and his love for the officer's daughter -- he's ready!!! Powerful voice, others are too wimpy --- "don't belong in the service."
@@ssr6036 come on "Ah! Mes amis" isn't a difficult aria. The 9 high Cs gave it the fame it deserves, but it's an aria of medium difficulty at most. If you want to find the real difficulty, pick a random aria from "I puritani".
This guy puts all those light tenors ( I won't name names here) to shame. Lol. I love hearing the light tenors too but it is nice to hear someone sang this Aria with some gusto.
Agreed, the other tenors who sing this aria are back benchers. I love the way he speaks to his fellow soldiers. There is no mistaking it, he's telling them he's found the right woman for him. He says with POWER AND AUTHORITY, which carries a lot of weight with his fellow soldiers. He's one of the best with this Aria --- see I didn't cross to he line for many you, but he is truly EXCEPTIONAL!!
I agree --- this guy has some powerful lungs -- the other"ranked" tenors are kind of weak. There:s some power with Pavarotti, but the version I heard of him he had some trouble with pitch and the high sections were supported by the orchestra to help him stay on pitch.
Debes escuchar a Brownlee, es tenor ligero lírico, buenísimo. Hace un dueto maravilloso con Javier Camarena, el mejor Tenor del mundo hoy por hoy. Te encantará
Does anyone know the name of this outstanding tenor? I hear him as Wotan in Die Valkyre , Wagner, and many more roles, someone must know his name??????? Please......
Honestly I doubt he is a “natural” tenor. He’s more than likely a Baritone with an upper extension he’s worked very hard to achieve. That said he sings perfectly fine. Some may not like his tone/timbre but that’s subjective. There are some odd placements and articulations I don’t care for but he didn’t butcher it like most Tenors these days do so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. At any rate he whose to say?? Fach is so useless. You can sing it or you can’t. I suspect he’s better in other repertoire.
