The engine used in the Mustang fighter was the Rolls-Royce Merlin, the best piston engine of WW2. Pity they could not have acknowledged this. The engine was built at several plants in the UK and by Packard in the USA and was used in the Hurricane and Spitfire fighters (which jointly won the Battle of Britain) and in several other British WW2 aircraft including the Mosquito; Lancaster bomber; Halifax bomber.

The transcription record beep tone triggered a slide projector or operator to push a corded button to advance. Also self contained suitcase sized units that when the lid was raised a screen unfolded, behind it was the record player and slide projector. The slideshow and recording may have been filmed on 16mm.

Excellent Love these films Notice how they show the connection to military action PEOPLE were very patriotic in these times as America had just saved the world and WW2 had ended in 1945 and these are 1948 cars

Albeit hindsight is perfect, Packard should have taken that huge bundle of cash and built an overhead valve V-8.

@@bradiverson8231 Oh, is that why the transmissions in 55-56 are so troublesome?
@bradiverson8231
@bradiverson8231 3 года назад
@@1940limited yep. That V8 had too much torque for the transmission and blew out the valve bodies. It was not a good transmission. The first Fordamatics weren't any better. They overheated to too insufficient cooling lines.
