@@jjohnsengraciesmom females are smaller but usually have a person and they protect them fiercely. She protects anyone in the house but I’m her concern. The boys think everyone is their friends and they are more protective of the entire property.

@sbenn6917 in the middle of the night in July 2021, I had a cerebral stroke .. I was upstairs and my husband downstairs .. he was asleep downstairs, I was in no sec paralyzed, Rocky did get my husband before it was too late... my boy Rocky, he is my everything.. ❤️ I love him to death..

😊my girl led me home I lost my vision in the heat, I was about 5. acres down with my horse's, my big horse came to me I felt him and took his mane he walked me out of the field and my Razor was waiting at the gate and on my hands and knees she led me to my house , she leaned on me letting me know she would take care of me. Best dogs ever ❤

Like hiring someone to train it ? Or train it yourself ? I’m on the fence about getting a 2 month old male Rottie. Any advice or feedback would MUCH APPRECIATED THANK YOU !

I would suggest a female if it’s your first. They are calmer and easier to train. I have a two year old female and I trained her but also got professional training as well. Be firm with your voice when you talk but don’t scream or yell. I feed mine Keebler mixed with rice and browned ground turkey. She loves it.

@seiscincocero : By training, I meant getting some lessons on how to control the dog. It doesn't have to be a one on one environment. Immediately after I got my dog, I signed up for beginner classes at Petsmart. About eight classes total. After that, she went through intermediate level training. Like I said, at one point my dog was 115 lbs (she's lost weight since then). As a woman I wanted to be able to control her and not require my husband's assistance.

My dad tried doing the same thing to make them mean. Luckily, he had 1 stubborn ass daughter who wouldn't let it happen. I trained all our dogs to protect them from him, and the rotts were my favorites. The authorities will care after the neglect becomes a social problem, and the dog tries to attack. If you can, sneak over there and play with the pup so he has a friendly face when shit hits the fan. I was able to get dogs taken away from my sister for the same neglect, but no one care until there was extreme weather. Reach out to some rescue programs if there are any in your area. They might help more

@@MichiganFresh Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I cant let him see me giving him treats or anything else. He and I have had an exchange of words because that POS took it upon himself to open up a package belonging to us and that makes it a felony. Yet, I can’t get the police to get over there and charge him because the vast majority of police suck here as where everywhere else, it seems. So I have to now be covert when I give the sweet dog any treats. I do have a ladder and always look over the fence to talk to him. And make sure he has water too. This POS owner got the dog as a “security dog” and the Rottweiler is so tamed and docile he is not even a threat. My Chihuahua is more aggressive than the Rottie. lol! That was great that you were able to talk to your father to giving up his dog. I wish this man would somehow not come back home one day. I would absolutely take that sweet dog. I will keep checking on the dog everyday and if this POS is out of line in anyway with the dog. I will take pictures and will call animal control to report him.

You've clearly never experienced a working line rottweiler. No working line rottweiler is goofy their serious about protecting and working

Hey, i am considering getting one but i work 10 hours a day... would that be a problem for the dog or would he get used to it? I want the best for the dog hence why i have not made the commitment all these years to get one… any advice is much appreciated

You're so right. My dog won't even eat if he thinks I'm going somewhere without him..

But they are vicious. They are powerful and aggressive. You have to alter them aka training in order to make them a pet. But people need to stop lying. They're animals.

@@casual35their not lol people lie on the internet stop believing everything you see online I’m sure Rottweilers are amazing dogs and you logic makes no sense every animal should be trained if it’s gonna be a good pet also if you train it it’s gonna be fine a sweet big loving dog and If you don’t then it will be mean and aggressive that’s one of the main reasons why dogs tend to kill people because they don’t have the proper training from the right owner
