The lesson I’m learning in all Spey casting is that less is more. Also practice is the key. I’m casting a 67’ Gaelforce Equalizer Altitude Spey line in a 15’ Carron Double handed Spey Rod. The rod had plenty of power and a little bit of soul. A tad less power brings out a little more distance for me.

Hey I’m getting a airflow scout for my 9ft 6wt for single hand casting,, any suggestions on weight ??? Also the tips,, I have couple of 10ft floaters,,or just floaters & sink tips, can I use a poly leader from the head and tippet at the end ( I can make my own if needed ) for floater & sink tip how long of a leader should I use ?? A lot of questions ehh thanks if you can help 🐟

When tip casting you tend not to overload the tip thus avoiding loop disturbances in all planes...
