I could not be more proud of my, and my fellow Americans, settler ancestors . They faced terrible odds and turned this into what was once the greatest nation in the world.

@adamF2012 Do NOT come at me with some mess. My ancestors came here in 1618. I have worked hard for this nation. I was referring to the FACT that American cities are collapsing, national infrastructure is falling apart, societal norms are now degenerate, the debt is astronomical, and this is NOT the nation it was even 20 years ago. I will die for America, but I see the facts.

For those interested in the Southern's hand to hand combat abilities, research what was called "Gouging" or sometimes rough & tumble ( although the latter was used for other styles also). The Southern working man did not do duels in the way of "Gentlemen". The pioneers and working men often engaged instead in gouging. Ripping off ears, plucking another man's eye out, or biting his nose or lip off was all expected. It was only after the War of Northern Aggression that gouging really came to an end in the South. Even foreign visitors had wriiten about it in their memoirs from visiting in colonial and early American times.

The Red Stick War. Those were the early days after the Mimms massacre. With Jackson taking full command and Choctaw/Cherokee assistance. Without them the Horseshoe Bend assault should have been a disaster.

Last part of my research ensuing confrontation dale and all his men including Jeremiah austall and James smith , had become separated from main force . Their late morning in November 12 , 1813 , was interrupted with cry that indians . When dale and his small party reached saw canoe containing reputed chief and ten warriors coming down river . As canoe approached bank , occupants saw dale men and reversed their canoe back into river . Two warriors jumped from canoe into water and one was shot by smith. Dale ordered large canoe to be brought over from other side of river aid in attacking men in other canoe eight men began to carry out this order but got cold feet . When they saw number of warriors in canoe and returned to their side of river . Unwillingness of men to join fight . Dale was engaged in indians. He ordered free African American known as Caesar, to paddle small dug out canoe, which would any hold himself Austli and smith to meet creek canoe now carrying warriors. As Caesar paddled canoe toward their target dale , Austill , smith attempted to fire upon Indians . Only one weapon fired two had been dampened by water of river . Canoes were prowl to prowl . Chief dale and shouted in English ( now for it big Sam ) canoes together and after few minutes hand to hand fighting and killed 91 of Indians remaining canoe. According to witnesses dale men cheered as bodies of dead warriors were cast into river .

Austill lived and worked for many years on his plantation, he died in 1879 at age 86 . Very little is known about James smith other then he was native of Georgia and took part on several frontier expedition that involved skirmishes with Indians during creek war . Smith moved to Mississippi after war and lived there until his death. Thank for giving us chance to read learn new information and improve our English as well . Good luck to you your dearest ones .

Alabama's History: Acknowledging Complexity and Building Empathy Acknowledging Family Ties and Historical Truths: I understand your deep connection to the pioneers in Alabama. It's natural to feel pride in their resilience and resourcefulness. However, presenting history requires acknowledging the broader context and perspectives beyond our race or personal lineage. I say this being a descendant of someone who was actually among the first 10 white families to enter and settle Alabama. Shifting Language and Perspective: Instead of "those 'savage' Native Americans," consider "the indigenous peoples who faced dispossession and violence on their ancestral lands." This re-framing recognizes their humanity and the injustice they experienced. Alabama has a complex history across various cultures, including some indigenous groups. History is rarely black and white. Instead of categorizing our white ancestors as simply "brave" or Native Americans as "savages," explore the motivations and complexities behind their actions. Economic pressures, cultural beliefs, and individual personalities all played a role in shaping their choices. Empathy and Shared Humanity: While your audience might struggle with acknowledging past injustices, consider sharing stories of individual encounters that highlight shared experiences like grief, loss, or hope. This personalizes the narratives and fosters empathy across cultural divides. A Call for Inclusive Memory: Ultimately, we need to build a more inclusive understanding of Alabama's history. Instead of mine and every other white pioneer family and their struggles, consider all the families who have called Alabama home." This emphasizes shared identities and encourages collective responsibility for learning from the past. A study of history should be a focus on shared humanity, you can plant seeds for a more nuanced and inclusive understanding of Alabama's past, paving the way for a more just future.

Their ancestral lands are a tiny state in China. This was White land before they were even generated. This gentleman is reading an historical account of White's retaking their ancestral home. It is an historical account. Savages have no historical accounts.
