Hi thanks for sharing this simulator! I’ve got a question that how do you prevent the collision between the coin? By coding? Then how do you edit the script?
if you're still interested, it is by putting the coins on a different layer, and making that layer not able to collide with itself in the physics settings
Hi there, thanks for the simulator! I've got a few questions: 1. How are the results tallied? I noticed that they pop up long before the cylinders have all settled...are they calculated or are results taken after a given time no matter if the dice have stopped? 2. What are the units of all the parameters besides thickness? 3. I see that one of the parameters that the user can change is "friction," is this friction between the dice and the surface? Judging from how they are bouncing it seems that there is no air resistance, could you add that to the simulator? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the questions! For the tally, it waits a certain amount of time and then assumes if it's tilted enough to one side it will always end up falling that way. The units are whatever units unity uses in it's simulation. Since this is just a simple setup using unity's physics, air resistance would be quite difficult to implement and probably wouldn't change the results too much anyways. You can see the exact numbers and how this all works in the code!
I don't really work with unity and programing in general, but i'd love to use this simulation, but somehow i'm unable to find executable file and the unity file doesn't work for me for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey! Just follow the github link in the description and then click on "Releases". The zip file contains an executable, should be what you're looking for.
