3/10 times 5/2 = 3/4. First, "flip" the second fraction over. 2/5 would then become 5/2. The problem would then be 3/10 times 5/2. And from there, it is straight forward multiplication. Final answer is 3/4.

Invert the denominator & multiply to get 15/20, eliminate 5 as a common factor, resulting in 3/4

Can teach the Kids that there's a "secret weapon" to attack these probs.

Since you're a teacher and probably don't want to teach incorrect grammar, I'd like to point out a mistake that I think I heard you say: "You would have came up with an answer." Correct grammar: "You would have COME up with an answer." Thanks for your math lessons here. I remember most of this from decades ago, but not all of it.

How about this: 3/10 divided by 2/5 = numerator/numerator "over" denominator/denominator. 3/2 "over" 2 = 3/2 x 1/2 = 3/4. This strategy, rarely taught to students as a complement to the X of fractions strategy (N x N "over" D x D), works really well/simply/better than the "keep, change, flip" strategy favored by teachers, when the numerators and denominators both divide easily. For example, 4/9 divided by 1/3 = 4/1 "over" 9/3 = 4/3

Turn into fractions, keep the first fraction as is, change to multiplication, flip the second fraction. Stay, change, flip!

Note that the denominator; 2/5 is 4/10, invert that to multiply 10/4 by the numerator 3/10. Note that the 10s cancel. Combine for an answer of 3/4.

3/10 divided by 2/5 There are two ways to do this .. 1) 3/10 divided by 2/5 ... 3/10 divided by 4/10 ... 3/4 2) 3/10 divided by 2/5 ... 3/10 x 5/2 ... 15/20 ... 3/4

3 something over 4 something is 3/4. Convert the fifths to tenths and then cancel them.

Best way is no calculator and no paper: 3/10 . 5/2 = 3/2 . 1/2 = 3/4

Three-tenths ÷ by two-fifths = 0.3 ÷ 0.4 = 3/4 = three-quarters

That is exactly how I solve/calculate these types of fraction problems. Divide the numerators by their respective denominators to get a decimal equivalent then solve the math problem with it all as decimals.
