I was talking to a friend and this video suddenly appeared on my feed. I clicked on it out of curiosity and it started playing. we had recently had a falling out of sorts and she was going through a lot and so was I but we weren't as close as we had been these past few years. I had just finished going through a break up and was getting over my ex and she just had her heart broken and we missed eachother but didnt know it then this song started to play and it just reminded me of her so much so I told her, I told her how the intensity of the strings reminded me of her and how the reverberations of the bass screamed her name and how every stroke of the violins made me think of her and I sent this song to her and she started crying and I did too. we were reunited by a simple beautiful melody. thank you for this, kind stranger. I don't know how lucky I was to have encountered this but seriously I am so grateful. it is a beautiful piece and although you only covered it, it was still thee most beautiful musical piece I have ever heard. much love, -Lj
Incredible rendition of one of the most beautiful songs ever. People think Jaco was just an amazing bass player but his compositions were out of this world
♡Thank you. This is lovely. 👏🏻Jaco's student, the humble LEGEND Michael Manring, plays his bass with such love + brightness. 🕊'Three Views of a Secret' was played at Jaco’s funeral Mass on 25th September 1987, at St Clement Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he had once served as an altar boy. It rang out as the pallbearers led the procession of mourners out of the church.
Bravi tutti! Just out of curiosity, which version of this tune will appear on the new album: this one or the solo version? (They are both outstanding, so either way would be wonderful.)
Worked really hard on the mix. In the end I was happy to let the bass and the strings do a lot of the carrying of the melody. There is a solo version online on RU-vid as well, and it's downloadable on my Bandcamp. :-)
