Uploaded in memory of former Threshold vocalist Andrew 'Mac' McDermott who died on 3 August 2011. This was one of his last performances with the band, performing at Z7 in Switzerland on 17 September 2004.
Popular or not popular God has gifted Threshold to me, what a privilege to have found this amazing band in May 2020 during covid19 lockdowns in Australia. Hope the boys make it down under some time.
Such an amazing and unique vocalist, he is missed and never forgotten by his fans. He started with backing vocals for Letter X and Fair Warning, then sang lead for Sargant Fury. But Andrew really came into his own in Threshold, because he could do much more with diverse emotions in those songs.
I was of this opinion, until they released Dividing Lines in 2022. This is their peak for me. Glynn I feel is paying homage to Mac with his vocals, while also delivering the emotion of Damian. Musically, I think Dividing Lines is as good or better than Subsurface
I have only just discovered this band via Spotify, I love this song! I have been playing it all week! Devastated reading the comments that this terrific vocalist is no longer with us? I have just gone from a tremendous high, to a horrific low in a matter of minutes. God bless you, RIP. xx
From Buenos Aires argentina Los amo!!.
I'm very happy to say that Threshold was my first "real" metal concert when i was teenager. And it was at this tour. They played Fragmentation and The Ravages Of Time among others. I realized later the chance i had!
in i think 2005 a colleague gave me a CD with subsurface because it´s "kind of dream theater". I didn´t really listen to it. Now 14 year later i re-discovered it and now i am playing it like everyday in my Car. Absolutely brilliant
My first Threshold album has been Clone and when I heard it I simply fell in love with Mac's voice!!! PURE ENERGY!!! KEEP ON ROCKIN' WITH THE ANGELS MAC!!!!! YOU WILL REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER!!!
Mac's memory will live on forever, I was so sad when I first heard of the news of his passing, R.I.P. This is such a killer performance, everyone was bringing their A game.
I notice everyone can't stop talking about Mac. I'm in that group too. Threshold is still top shelf musical band but damn I sure do miss Mac as vocalist also. All the guys in the band including all the vocalists are still very good and fit the band as well. Mac was just Mac. One of those things. Hats off to them all !
Threshold was one of the reasons I bought tickets to the 2007 edition of ProgPower USA in Atlanta, and I was disappointed that Mac left the band, although it is understandable in retrospect. Still, I wish I had been able to see him live once, as he was amazing. The band isn't really the same without him.
Mac helped me get through cancer. Rolled up in a ball going through chemo, but had my Threshold cranked to 11. Fuck'em if they couldn't take a joke. Mac you are missed, and thought of constantly !!!
Having only just discovered Threshold in the last 6 months or so, they are now one of my favourite bands and this is one of my favourite songs of all time - who would've known back then that this song would foretell the state of society today and the agenda of the globalists...
I discovered this song today thanks to Spotify. Listened to it some ten times already. Then chanced upon this live version and wanted to say this' vocalist sounds better live only to read that he's no more with us. There was a rainbow where I live today. Poetic.
Mac sounded like a James LaBrie with a proper technique and like if he never had that food poisoning... I can somehow imagine him singing "Pull Me Under" flawlessly.
Me too mate - I never new Threshold were such an amazing BRITISH prog metal band until I heard Dead Reckoning which still blows me away even now - I am optimistic for March of Progress as single is great and Damian has never sounded better!! RIP Mac Welcome Damian and the new era of Threshold
Had this man been born 20 years earlier, I've no doubt Robert Plant or David Coverdale may have been out of jobs. Shame the only live experience I ever got with this lineup was the Critical Energy DVD. You've a big job ahead of you Mr. Damian Wilson - best of luck to you (and looking forward to the new album)!
Mac was amazing and will forever be missed. I like what Damian did afterwards, but I am happy to see Threshold now back with Glynn Morgan once again! He is a better fit for Mac's material because his voice blends into the Threshold sound, but he also retains that emotional tone that Damian is known for. They have now a perfect combination of all their singers in one man now. Dividing Lines brought back some memories of Subsurface for me, which made me excited for the future of this band - Epic times ahead. RIP Mac
