I totally agree and I am only on S1 E1, however I obviously don’t know about the ending……..yet, just hope that the rest of the episodes are as good as this, and I like the fact that Brent Spinner is playing a character so different from “Data”, still a bit of a “know it all” like Data but a far more interesting and compelling character.
This was such an original alien invasion premise rather than the tire old formula of ships from outta space, that in my eyes could be plausible. Love it.
LOVE this series, how I wish Brent Spiner, Peter Dinklage and the rest of the amazing cast and crew could’ve continued for a few more years till the end.
I have watched the show as rerunss several times on TV before I bought the DVD colletion . SO I AM NOT HERE AS A FREELOADER , just interested in the reactions to it. Whished the show had gone on or were rebooted.
Love the actress who plays the female lead in this series. Her work is underrated. She's an excellent actress who doesn't receive enough accolades or get offered enough really great roles. She's beautiful, skilled & perfectly fits into every roll she's ever tackled. She was amazing as the parole officer in "Sin City". She just carries herself so well & reeks confidence. She really is an amazing actress that women could admire in any role. She needs more opportunities in a variety of films.
jew mouth .... take your word for it about the dog ballz..... I’m not an expert like you seem to be.... you must of had to jiggle quite a few together your data..... 😳
I know this show is more than 15 years old, but did anyone notice at the beginning, when the contingency expert (Carla Gugino) says it's her job to prepare us for things...including a pandemic caused by a SARS-like virus?
I loved the scene where Peter Dinkledge's mentioned " Klingons and Brent Spiner's character had a weird look like he wasn't expecting that!!!!!!! Like outta left field man!!!!!!!!
man oh man.. i never made it to watching this show and now im finally gonna do it.. who knows how many damn secrets were buried in this show/. i really miss the quality of the shows back then. come back will you come back. screw all thse dating shows.. come back with these!
"SARs-like virus"..... oop No, seriously though, the truth is that epidemiologists have know that this was inevitable for decades, but world governments didn't prepare for it because it would've been expensive and not good enough PR
I really liked this show, and it was my first intro to Peter Dinklage. I liked his acting then, and now I'm a HUGE fan of his on Game of Thrones. Great actor!
I don’t remember ever seeing this on TV 📺, it looks good.......but we will see!!!!!. Yup, I like this, will definitely watch more, thanks for sharing. 👍🇬🇧🏴
Hey this was one of many short lived scifi shows that only lasted for a short time then disappeared never to reappear but in rerurns and syndication!!!!!!!! Thanks for showing it!!!!!!!!!
Just started watching, I wanted to compliment the person who did the postging, The film is so clear And the sound is perfect. Tx for posting...have a blessed day.
I've watched a few episodes of this and I thought it to be an interesting take on 'alien invasion'. The show was generally entertaining. Cancellation of the show after the first series denies us a reveal of the aliens and their intentions, but this doesn't spoil the show. I'd certainly recommend it to others.
i agree...watched the whole season....back then.....and wished they had made a second season...or a conclusion feature........this show just abruptly stopped with an open ending.....( not a promising open end...just an end with loads of open questions )
I always found it strange that this series was canceled. I enjoyed it quite a lot. It had a decent plot, likable and unique characters, Brent Spiner, and aliens. What's not to like? Thx for the upload. I'll enjoy it
After 4 minutes we had a suspicious guy who was dumped, strange occurrences on a ship at sea, brief glimpses of special effects, a brief clip of a woman giving a lecture then going home to a neglected dog and then a helicopter. None of the scarce dialogue to this point has any bearing on any plot point. We had mood music to tell us that the woman has a boring, lonely life and she is always traveling... but no real hook.
+Threshold HD & Subtitled As with the classical STAR TREK with Kirk & Spock the audience had been to limited for a satisfying control group. I mean, here in Europe, the series had a lot of fans as well. In a way the plot about the will powering sound wave had been used already for 5 MILLION YEARS B:C.(1968) / QUATERMASS AND THE PIT( 1958/59 as a mini-series ) You can watch it on RU-vid as well
Yes they could at least end the first season. New episodes, following the original story made as this gap doesn't happened. It's too bad this show don't get a single full season .
After 12 years, it's highly unlikely. But I also loved this show and until recently, I always hoped it will return. But after so many years, I've given up hope.
Thanks for putting this series on RU-vid. I've wanted to watch it for a few months. I'd been hoping to buy it on Amazon video but so far it's not available.
I was so sorry this series ended so abruptly. It had such a good beginning & premise, but like so many series about aliens the writers don't seem to form a clear vision of where it should go or end. Great cast that deserved a good ending.
i mean considering they had plans for Foothold, and Stranglehold. i dont think it was a lack of vision. more a failure of marketting and timing. i didnt even hear about it until a couple years after it was cancelled and even if a bit unique it had a lot of invasion/infection movies and tv shows as competition that were likely much more heavily advertised.. just what i concluded though so could be wrong
What is really scary about this is this was in my recommendations and one of the very first things that she is talking about is about a pandemic and look at where we possibly are with Coronavirus
Scary because that's how youtube works!? A global pandemic is always on the cards and has happened many times in history to varying extents (The US was immune until Easterners from Europe went West (from a native American perspective)). You do know the recommendation algorithm reacts to your search history and current events, right?.. get a grip.
A BIG thank you for posting these. I really enjoyed this show, and my favorite character was Arthur Ramsey! And, there were great actors in this show who gained fame in later years! Little did I know how much MORE of a fan I would become years later, watching Peter Dinklage on GoT! I WISH TV stations would stop jumping to end sci-fi programs! You would THINK that they learned their lesson from Star Trek! But, they continued to start these shows, then cancel them before they had a chance to catch on! Boo, hiss. But, am I crazy or have the voices been altered in this video? The music at some places is altered, too! Why? Just to be different from the original? That's sad and very distracting?
Just watched this for the first time. Maybe it wasn't shown here in the UK. I'll certainly watch a few more episodes and see how it develops.

2:24 Just try to remember this is just an exercise ...a global pandemic... the coronavirus. I like the way this show foretold our future as I watch this during the quarantine.
If I'd have written this, in the scene right when the guy gave Dinklage the door 1 or 2 option. Dinklage would have said: "I'll take door number one. And don't ever stoop down to talk to me. It's demeaning. Got that? Good." (as he exits without waiting for the reply)
I had a Tibetan Spaniel named Monster who was alive at the time of this tv show. He would have been about 6 years old. He was 18 when he died (His live was a lot longer than this tv show, and I think that's kind of nice)
Masterfully done!!! Never saw this before and u see it's a few years old already. What happened to the series? I would have binge watched this show just add i did with every show off Star Trek since its early beginning up thru Generations, Deep Space Nine, Voyager etc. Bring this one back if you can keep it as it was originally and not cheapen it with overbaked cheesy special effects and poor quality players as many newer sci-fi have become the days reminiscent too much of anime or video games... This show had true sci-fi 'meat' you could sino your teeth in!!!💯👏👏👏
Absolutly right. Alone here in Germany the show had THREE ! reruns on the free channels - this for proof of your opinion. Not to mention the point that people like me have bought the DVD collection
@@andrewjason5824 Windows 10, right click on the speaker in the task bar next to the time. Click on sound. Right click speakers. Enhancements is a tab there. Though I don't see pitch.
Excellent idea and concept. Missed the series first time broadcast, but wish I didn't back then. Also, this file speed, even at "Normal" speed, is strange...it's still playing or sounding "almost too fast" for all the voice pitches....sounds "strange".
Like "Alphas" this is a series with top-rate actors, top-rate plot/writing and everything else, yet was cut off and left people hanging, begging for more. Good sci-fi is getting harder to find now, and this is one of those series that held such great promise, but was just dropped from production before it had time to gain top speed. Firefly was another top sci-fi series, which was ended after just one series, and look how many people still love that show. Hopefully the same will be said for Threshold 🙂
I remember this show, it went off the rails after the three episode. It's like the writers lost interest (focus) on where they were heading with this show. Sad, I really had hope for this show.
Alot off topic BUT anyone else remember a series about people getting younger called "Golden Years" based on a Stephen King story?? Would love to see it again
I am still disappointed when i listen on RU-vid to some SCIENCE FICTION round about shows where THRESHOLD is not even mentioned to bring it back. As with TIME TUNNEL it is widely forgotten
William Mapother is the engineer Gunneson. You may remember him as Ethan on the tv show, Lost. He is also the first cousin of Tom Cruise (who is actually Tom Cruise Mapother IV).
I'll always remember that time, 2004 - 2005 or so, as the year when genre TV finally came back full-swing. With this, Invasion, and Surface, and Lost, we horror fans finally had a tasty array of shows to sink our teeth into, such a shame that the rest of the world never appreciated them. Cut to the next decade and shows like The Walking Dead, Channel Zero (another *amazing* show), Stranger Things, and iZombie started popping up everywhere. I wonder if those earlier shows would've done better had social media been more prevalent... ah well.
Man, burned again! Start really digging this show and they cancelled it. Seemed to me they did this all the time with Science Fiction shows. Same deal with a show, Invasion I think? During a hurricane aliens (? lights in the water) came ashore in Florida and maybe took over people. Not sure because they CANCELLED THE DAM THING just when it was getting good. Made me rethink getting involved in any of these shows in the future after getting hung out to dry a few times. Screw the networks.
THRESHOLD was one of THREE alien-invasion shows that season. The audience was probably split among the shows so that none of them could attract a sufficient audience.
Omg, thanks for reminding me about Invasion, I remember seeing that on tv. It was super decent. I'm gunna rewatch it regardless of being unfinished... There's two or three other decent sci-fi's I've got into over the years that got canned.... - "The EVENT" - "Ascension" - "Revolution"
Ahhhh:))) The music of Supertramp!! Lives on forever......@3:07 Love that Little Guy! He should have played Mini Me in Austen Powers movies! Wow, and Data from Star Trek TNG! Why was this series canceled?? Maybe it was far too successful.........
Yeah. Nothing protective...Not even on the potentially infected guy. That would be too real and make it harder to suspend your disbelief. You'd have to rely upon eyes only to convey things if your actors are in masks, and no director is THAT good. But all in all a great show even minus real medical/scientific protocols. "No time for fear"- no time for details. 😆
The advance crew was masked and suited; they tested for pathogens, found none, and radioed the Red Team (still in the helicopters) that the environment was clear. That’s why they wore no PPE.
