Loving the Thrice reactions! They started off as a hardcore band, and evolved constantly over the years. They really started changing when the lead singer did a solo project, that was very folksy/bluesy. I would check out Dustin Kensrue "Pistol" to see what I'm talking about. The next Thrice song I'd recommend after that would be "Beggars" Keep em coming, Todd!
Dustin’s voice = gold. Check out his side folk stuff Dustin Kensrue- Please Come Home. Showcases his voice more. Also, IMO, I think this songs about keeping faith even though it easily escapes- I.e. “faith feels like a fistful of sand.” At the end of the music video, the adult couple survived whatever they were going through, but they should have kept faith in themselves (or, the Lord above) when they were younger, hence the flash of the couple as youths. It will keep raining, and he’s not afraid to go into the night, how do we find harbor from the hurricane? Faith in something.
