Id like to say he is probably the best song writer of rock music today, and thrice, all of those guys together create an amazing sound. Its like it was meant to be
I never REALLY listened to this until my buddy wanted me to record all the guitar & bass for a cover for him to sing to, which will be used for him and his fiance to walk down the isle to and I must say... whenever I REALLY listen to Thrice again, I get the chills. Dustin has a flawless method of writing amazing music. Definitely in my top 10 of all time.
Thrice have a real melancholic sound, all those minor, diminished, and dominant 7th chords. It's unique and helps set them apart. They have insane song writing skills to create this stuff. GOAT post-rock band imo.

I always thought the lyrics were "not a BURDEN for a moment" and "if it can't HOLD the weight." This being a more stripped-down acoustic version really called my attention to the proper lyrics.
I love the drums on this song. Riley is so unique with his drum beats. He makes sure every song is different, not the same shitty drum beats a lot of drummers play for basically every song. The song "Between The End And Where We Lie" off the album Vheissu has an awesome drum beat during the chorus. There's so many great Thrice songs I can't keep count, but the song "For miles" which is also off of Vheissu is such an epic song, a fuckin masterpiece. Vheissu was a turning point for Thrice in a sense of experimentation. We can't forget about Artist In The ambulance! An album where you can just let it play through cause every song is so fuckin good. It's such a powerful album that in my book is a classic!
Amazing band! I just got back from their concert, seen them 7 times now, always an amazing live show. just wished they played more stuff off Illusion of Safety, my favorite album. However Beggars and Major/Minor are amazing as well.

Is there a tab for this version? I preformed this at an open mic tonight, but I did not use a capo. It didn't sound nearly as good as what he does here in this video..

@kyt3nmafia I wouldn't say underrated as much as I would say unnoticed. Thrice has put out countless albums, all amazing, but yet they don't go mainstream because they don't make an effort to. Dustin is the single most talented musician of this decade.
