He is wonderful! Ive only just now started listening the Thrice and so far EVERY song, Ive fallen in love with. Even the really slow ones like Digital Sea. And I hate slow songs!
I sit here clutching useless lists And keys for doors that don't exist I crack my teeth on pearls I tear into the history Just show me what it means to me in this world Cause I am due for a miracle I'm waiting for a sign I'll stare straight into the sun And I won't close my eyes Til I understand or go blind I see the parts but not the whole I study saints and scholars both No perfect plan unfurls Do I trust my heart of just my mind Why is truth so hard to find In this world Yeah in this world Cause I am due for a miracle I'm waiting for a sign I'll stare straight into the sun And I won't close my eyes Til I understand or go blind I know that there's a point I've missed A shrine or stone I haven't kissed A scar that never graced my wrist A mirror that hasn't met my fist But I can't help feeling that I'm Due for a miracle I'm waiting for a sign I'll stare straight into the sun And I won't close my eyes
When he says "Do I trust my heart or just my mind." (-BOTH-) Hebrews 10:8 ‘I will put my laws in their mind, and in their hearts I will write them. ' First Commandment : Love God with whole heart, soul, mind, strength. Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30 Luke 10:27 -
@@hawkstrike18 the song your commenting here is about the search for truth in spirituality and religion. They wrote a song about the Inquisition and witch hunts too- .
@@Jeffo84 it has a broader sense, I bet. I don't think they wrote everything with only Christianity in mind, it's a search for the right path in general, and making sense of it all, imo. Well, it should be at least 😏
@@hawkstrike18 right on yeah your right i take it as anyone on a spiritual path or searching philosophies. Seeking truth/knowledge. But Thrice as a band or at least Kensrue lean toward Christianity in relation to many other things, they were tied to pastors and church movements, some of their songs cover the history of the churches or are bent toward Christianity/the Bible. Such as -Image of the Invisible, which sounds a lot like the statement about what man is in Genesis, -Under a Killing Moon(Catholic Inquisition), the Abolition of Man(which was also the title of a religious book by CS Lewis who I think was a Protestant after his atheism), Cold Cash and Colder hearts is about "Christian" America and deprived nations. Christianity as a topic seems to be very widespread in their songs
I'm replying to a 5 year old comment to say I went to that tour when it came to my city! Good lord I was blown away with how Dustin sounds just as amazing live as he does in the studio recording. And animals as leaders are incredibly talented musicians. But because their music is so complex, it takes focus. So they just stand there playing their 10 string guitars. Kind of on the boring side of performances. But I'm a drummer, and watching their drummer go so hard was super fun for me. My friend that doesn't play instruments was bored out of her mind though.
I think it's funny that the camera is mostly on the violinist on the left during the "violin solo" parts, when it's actually the one on the right that's playing the lead violin parts. He never did get a good solo shot.
You guys are amazing bur one of my favorite acoustics was in years to come and cuz of stupid covers i can't find your original acoustic version of in years to come... please help me
@Xisayuhhx - Looks like two different violins. They make violins in different sizes up to Contrabass (bigger then a cello) - they're just tuned in 5ths, have one less string, and no C extender.
digital sea is definitely their best song, the only one I'm really sinking into, but I'm more a nine inch nails, tool, a perfect circle, blur kinda guy.
@omgeveryname yeah i can play it now, it goes Am, C, G, and F for the verses and choruses, and it goes Dm, F, C, Am, Dm, F, C, E, Dm F, C, Am, Dm and then F until the choruses at the end. haha so much music in one comment, its beautiful.
Nice. I never knew Dustin like that. I've got to keep up.......HAHAAH f*cking 2009 Never mind.. HAHAHAA That girl's probably Teppi's cousin back their jkjkjk I grew up to Thrice!
I don't want to be cynical, because I love these guys, one of my favourite bands. But... is there auto- tune on his vocals? Sounds too perfectly in tune. Especially compared to his other live stuff :-/
