Hello beautiful friends and welcome to another thrift video. I hope you are having best summer. In today’s video I’m taking you along with me a day of thrifting and purchasing my very first Facebook market find. It was a little bit nerve-racking walking up to someone’s home to purchase something but I survived lol. I’ve been looking for this item for months now and I finally found it. I’m really excited to show you how I use it in my home. But before that, I take you on a thrift trip and show you what this new Goodwill had. Now this is a nicer neighborhood so I wasn’t sure what to expect with the prices. Stay till the end because I’m showing you how we use these items in my home in a real way!

How cute is that house...I still have 2 sock dolls one red& one blue from Germany when i was 5.I am now 76.I have a bunch of little toys that wind up as well. I have a bunch of odd things that I don't know what to do with.Kind of sad😢.

I love a bedroom refresh, and I think for 3.99, those were great and so cottage core. I loved the chair for 3.99. Some of those prices were ridiculous, unfortunately finding that more and more in our stores. The doll house stuff is wonderful and I love that at her age she loves all that! Yes please can we all do what works for us and what brings you joy and don't worry about others or what they think. As far as other books to read have you tried Little house on the prarie, Dear America, American girls, Secrets from Grandmas attic she may like some of those or Nancy Drew, Enola Holmes are all good and can find thrifting or at the library. It’s a pour over coffee maker. You put a coffee filter in the glass part your put coffee grounds and pour water and it drips the coffee inside the cup. Its actually really cool.

Thank you so much 😊 she really loves the new homes and now we are looking for new additions for the homes. I never come across calico critter things at the thrift store, but I’m hoping to find some maybe on OfferUp or Facebook marketplace. By the way, Eliana just crocheted a blue little whale 🥹 it’s the darndest thing ever and she is so proud of herself.

My daughter had the Sullivan families, which is now the Calico family. She had the red slanted roof house, with all the furniture, bears and rabbits. She loved it. That house came out in the '80's and she was probably your daughters age when she got it for Christmas one year. She will be 41 this year and still talks about it! I wish I held on to it! Thanks for sharing this. Brings back wonderful memories 💖.

That’s sweet of him. My dad used to bbq for all of us as well but he had a stroke back in April so we hate encouraging him to take it slow. But he is having a hard time slowing down. He is 70. Blessings to you and your family.

These books are great because they get the kids interested and opens up conversations about the situation. They start looking up and reading, learning more about these historical events. So I’m here for that. The author researches and interviews victims so the storyline is real but the characters are fictional. The kids really enjoy it.

Two book series I think your girls would love are The Land of Stories (6 books total) and A Tale of Magic (3 books total.) Both by Chris Colfer. The books are full of adventure and imagination with really good messages about believing in yourself. My favorite thing about this author is that he writes really strong female characters. Definitely look into these books!

Thank you so much for the recommendations. I will definitely add that to our list. My daughter is 10 but her reading level is 8th grade so it’s been difficult to find books that is at her reading level but still be appropriate for her age. Have a wonderful weekend.

Yes i totally agree. I once heard don’t design your home for guests that some once in a while but instead design it for the people that actually enjoy it daily. So always keep going back to that.

Hahaha that’s so fun cuz we teach the kids to be aware but here it was my turn to make sure I was safe. I was so nervous because I asked to meet at the local shopping center but she said her baby was so and her husband was at work and she couldn’t leave the house. So you can only imagine where my mind went with that story. Lol
