I so love secondhand books. Nothing makes me happier than when you find books with inscriptions to friends or lovers. Something of that relationship gets sealed forever in the book and it's sooo special 💛
Oh that’s so sad!!! I didn’t know if they had any other than in North America 😓 Hopefully they come your way soon! They’re truly wonderful! Maybe you could start the trend hehe 😉
If you look up little library UK something might come up :) I didn’t think I had any near me but when I looked it up I found out that the ones near me are called street library’s instead. It the same thing though just a different organization.
When I lived in the UK, there were little free libraries often set up in old phone boxes. I got some amazing books that way, one I actually brought back with me to Australia.
There’s some in the uk, just not many near where I live. There’s like one not to far away but it’s still kinda out of the way from where I live so not sure if I’ll ever go there but I might try see if I can.
I love those thrift book shops in the US. it is amazing what kind of treasures you could find there. Every time i travel to US , I visit thiose shops. I wish we had them in China . thanks for sharing .
thank you for taking me along with you on this trip, in Czech republic all stores have been closed since december so I haven’t visited a bookstore in soooo long and this gave me the much needed serotonin.
Oh my gosh thank you so much!!! 😭 I’m so happy you enjoyed the video and could love the experience with me!!! Hopefully you can visit some wonderful bookshops safely soon ♥️♥️♥️
I really love the variety of books you're showing on your channel! I have so many books on my wishlist now I would have never known of and I'm so excited.
Oh wow I can't believe you never heard of " a raisin in the sun" this is a classic read ..most have read it in school either middle school but definitely high school.. hope you enjoy it, oh the 50 cent book store ..I wish we had one that has to be amazing. And I really love that you go get books that are different and not all the same like most booktubers
what i like to do during the summer is actually go find as many little free librarys as possible and some times they are amazing just dependes what you like.
I guess a lot of tourists in the US wanna see New Your and stuff, but I personally wanna roam in cities and places like these, discover all these cute creative free little libraries, and then head to North Carolina to read my findings on a beach shore all day long🤞🏻❤🤞🏻
I enjoyed this thrift book video so much. It is so different from the other book thrifting videos I've seen. Hope to see more of these videos from you. New subscriber 😀
I love thiss!!! I love book thrifting so much!!! I just went a few days ago and found some good gems!! Not as good as you though, i'm so happy for you i know how satisfying it is to find some good books whether you already know about them or you're just discovering them for the first time. It's just an amazing experience!!
Oh my gosh thank you so much!!!! Ahh it is such a wonderful feeling to find new books that have been so loved before!!! So glad you found some good gems on your thrifting adventure!!! 😍🥰♥️
I never knew free little libraries were around me until I watched your video. There are a handful near by me. I am going to take a look at them. Thank you. 😊
I actually absolutely loved Perfume by Patrick Süskind when I read it a few years ago🙈 I read it in the original German, so maybe it's not as good in translation, but I thought it was so enticing and strange in the best way 😊 loved the vlog and am so happy for you that you found such great books 👍🏻I always love a good second hand book treasure hunt 😄
On the subject of the little free library's, my local actual library has a section where people drop off books and you can pick them up and donate books, I do this from time to time I don't find a lot that I want but I do donate books to it, mostly books my ex=wife left when we split up ( I will say I offered to give her the books back after she left a year or so after we split up but she didn't want them back, so there's that, lol) Be on the lookout for a book by Decry Steinke called Suicide Blonde, it (based on what you found) might be of interest to you. I read it about 10 or so years ago and to say what's about would be a bit spoilery, Anyway check it out if you ever find it. Oh, I will add it's a novel not autobiographical.
this was so fun. thrift book shopping is amazing! a raisin in the sun and the red scarf girl are middle school favorites where I live. Hope you like them!
@@augustisreading no problem!! I love them and their prices! They get a lot of books from libraries too and some newer books and most of their stuff is only around like $3! If you go, please do a video cause I would love to see your reaction!
I love finding books second hand! Old library copies are my favorite to find. Anytime I see them in Goodwill or a library book sale I freak out. I just found a used hardcover library book of "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote and it was a glorious day haha
I found a first edition copy of "In Cold Blood" in perfect condition at our local Friends of the Library. I paid $1 for this book. About a year earlier I picked up a first edition Hemingway, "The Sun Also Rises" in the same library for a buck. I've had the two books appraised and they are worth just under 10k
loved this video. It made me want to go book hunting but there aren't any good book places where I live unfortunately. I almost always have to buy them online :(
I'm sad you sped up through all the Fairytale titles... I wanted to hear them! Nice finds! I also live little libraries and have one in my yard and dollar stores sometimes have great books.. Varies a lot. Thrift stores too, for certain
I used to buy my secondhand books in ThriftBooks. Most of the time books are in the condition described in the ad but sometimes they are not. However, my experience with the customer service is excellent. They will replace the copy or will give you a refund. They respond in a promptly manner. I always look intage copies or original hardcover. I wish we could have here those used bookstore located in US or other countries.
Are you part of a buy nothing group on Facebook? They are based on neighborhood/area and are all about meeting the needs and requests of other community members out of the abundance of other community members, no monetary exchange. People often gift books!
