I love the couch. People don't have to love it because it matches your decor and that's all that matters. You always go the extra mile with details, your decor looks great. I think a darker rug would look good, one that is predominately navy or red without a ot of pattern as the plaid is already busy.

Plaid...did someone say PLAID?! 😍 I love plaid. My mountain home, Circa 1938, is Academic Asthetic. Dark in my library. Romantic in my floral Ralph Lauren office. Combo...in the rest of this huge stucco and metal roof house, I named Moonbow Mountain Cottage. It is so dark inside because the walls, ceilings, floors are Heart Pine. A lot of the furniture is French. I have collected Ralph Lauren fabric, in decades past and used most of it in curtains and pillows to match my Lauren meets old world europe....vibe. I was gifted some PLAID fabric and more...along with a Book of Plaid Tartens...from my mother in law...decades ago, after her trip to Scottland. I hope I didn't loose that book in the 2018 move to The Blue Ridge in the Smokeys. I think your sofa, which I'm trying not to covet...is a Black Night Watch. A few safari animal prints and statuettes, drippy candleabra, leather safari hats, brass compass, binoculars and an armillary sphere, added in will go nicely. I use a parchment map lamp shade next to plaid pillows and I use huge Sheepskin rugs in the cold months. Aubusson without the "Bear skin looking" sheepskins on top...work well all year. I am a retired missionary. Not wealthy. I've bought used and been a collector for decades. I enjoyed this video. Thanks. Darla. age 74

This was an especially good video. Homey, comfortable, and not overdone. I’m going to watch it again. My opinion on the rug is to send it back if you don’t love it. Look for one that’s pattern doesn’t fight with the plaid. (More subtle) you could go either lighter or deeper colors.

I love your style, but how in the world do you dust and clean around all of it? I can't imagine having to move it all.

As a Brit, I am so pleased you confirmed that you are against fox hunting as that was the only aspect of your channel that I had an issue with. Apart from the awful end for the poor fox, I think us Brits also hate the thought it was just the upper classes making a huge social occasion at the poor creature's expense. A long time ago I saw a tip that I've been using for years. I had so many bed linens, blankets, throws, and towels that my cupboards were bulging. I took all the off-season ones to put inside pillows, under mattress covers, etc., to plump things up. The stuffing was changed with the seasons We felt very sumptious in the midst of all that luxury.

Wow that sofa was a find and a half, I think a striped rug in the exact colours or a plain one would be good. I love vintage pictures with the gold borders, I wouldn't change them up. It's such a pleasure to watch your creativity.

I love everything about the area by the red chair! The lamp shade seems to have been made just for that base, and, to me, it’s true spot is next to that red chair. So many fall touches to love. I never would have thought of dead day lily leaves as decor
