Hey Sarah, would you consider doing a video of all the thrifted items in your home & how you've used them? I'd love to get pointers for how items have (or have not) worked out in the long run. Also, what items you wouldn't purchase now/and items you regret leaving behind. Just a thought... Thanks for all your hard work in creating & sharing these videos - I love them!
That's a fun idea, Rachel! I did a full house tour earlier this year that includes a lot of the thrifted items that have worked - but I like your suggestions for things that haven't worked, or things I regret not buying, too! If you haven't already seen that video and blog, I think you'd enjoy it! sheholdsdearly.com/full-farmhouse-tour-before-and-after/
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Aryan Kyler Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I used to live in Victoria BC and to see that you went to Value Village makes me happy and nostalgic. I live in northern Italy and miss that store. Here Thrifting is not so well established yet. I like watching you, ciao (That copper lid made in Italy, I have never seen)
PS, I LOVE Thrifting. So much fun! I'm always on the look out for rug hooks for rug hooking but haven't found one yet...sigh. But the thrill of the hunt is part of the fun!
I just adore you! You are such a joy to watch, listen to... I love your attitude and easy going spirit. You are truly talented and so inspiring! Just wish I could sit and drink coffee and ask for tips and advice! I am a 50 yr old do it all kind of gal from Louisiana. I have a huge home that I am trying to redo but I get so overwhelmed... anyway, I look forward to your videos. I’m jealous of your thrift stores. We do not have anything remotely like that. Love your thrifty soul! Such a beautiful person you are 😊
Thrifting is so much fun. I have decorated most of my house shopping at the thrift store!!! The thrill of the hunt is real. Love the olive tree you found today!!! What a score!
I love the idea of looking for pillows inserts at thrift stores. I usually look at the pillows as too personal and possibly dirty, lol! I will start looking with inserts in mind.
I'm so excited to have the thrift stores back open and garage sale season starting! I'm a vendor at a vintage shop in SW Washington so always on the lookout for treasures to resell or use at home.
I'm so happy to have found your channel. You are one talented girl. I also love your sign "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. You've got it going on and I'm so happy to have found you!😉
Love thrifting, and thrifting with you! This was a fun video. I especially love your porch. It is like another room in your home and so welcoming. At one time I was an "antiquer,: but when my finances changed I began sourcing my treasures elsewhere - at garage sales and thrift shops. Lately, mostly thrifting. It truly, as you called it, is a treasure hunt! So much fun!
When it comes time for grandbabies, guilt trips work wonderfully. I have 3 little ones now. It also worked on my younger brother and sister and their spouses who had been putting off children far too long.(they're hitting 40) Altogether 6 little ones running around now, and my father is so very happy.
I absolutely loved the burlap bag with your collection in the kitchen! It "fits" perfectly! Also, that jar with the copper lid... yummm! It was so beautiful! Thanks for taking us along with you! It was fun, kinda like i was actually getting to go thrift shopping myself! Lol!
Fun video! I love the end where you show how you style some of your treasures! Don't forget to check out the clothes section. That's where my husband buys his jeans and shirts for working outside in the yard! Such a huge savings! $$$
Great finds!!! I love that you get timeless pieces. I do that too. Sometimes I come home empty handed, and that’s ok. It just means I have to do more hunting 🤗 Greetings from California!
Right before lockdown, I scored a wedding band hand-quilted quilt for $13.00 for our queen size bed. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price tag. Always wanted one, but didn't want to piece all those small pieces together. Seeing those Currier and Ives dishes reminded me of my buddy grandma. She had a set of those for her everyday dishes and she had jelly glasses to drink from. My mother's twin cabinet to yours came from her husband's (PAPA) family. I also bought some 1 cup mason jars from the thrift store and went to Walmart to get white plastic lids. I'm on a portion diet and they are great sizes to make snack packs - I can have whatever I want snack-wise (except caffeine, salty foods, and sugar) and after filling with sugar-free pudding, jello, yogurt, etc., I place them in a basket just for that purpose in my frig and eat from them all week long. We have that verse posted at our house for our son Joshua.
Love everything you picked! We definitely have similar taste in so many things, which is why I follow you! Thanks for sharing your thrifting come-alongside, decor tips and ideas! Blessings to you and yours!
Thanks for sending me this link but I've seen it! Pretty lady.....I have watched ALL your videos!!!!!! You are my #1 You Tuber!!!!! But I'm watching this again! Love you!!!!!
Haha! I had to be sure! Hopefully some of the points were helpful! I DO think going often is pretty important. I have my local stores on a rotation and visit at least one every week!
I’m on the hunt for those blue Currier and Ives dishes. It’s fun to find a few here and there. Thrifting is so awesome. Love that others share the same passion. 😊
Great video. Just wanted to let you know, I tried hitting the bell to get your notifications because I wasn't getting them but when I hit the bell there was a message that says your channel is made for kids. You might want to change that in your settings so that your videos and channel will be searchable and also so that your subscribers will receive your notifications 😀. Just a heads up. Tfs
I know this is an older comment, but I'm trying to circle back around to let people know that if you un-subscribe and re-subscribe, you should be able to get notifications. There was a glitch from an older video that we accidentally marked as "made for children", and so even though the setting is now fixed, some people still can't click the bell depending on when they subscribed! Sorry for the extra step, but hopefully that helps you get our notifications going forward!
Absolutely love your videos on how to decorate and your craft ideas. You inspire me so much. Thank you for sharing your warmth, passion and love towards decorating. Hello from southern Oregon. Just love ya
I absolutely love going to the Goodwill & Salvation Army in my town & other towns. I've found the neatest & cutest stuff ever! I also donate at these places too. Also, love going to Antique malls where a bunch of different people sell stuff.
to me thrifting to me is like a treasure hunt. sometimes you find the treasure and sometimes you don't. the trick is to just enjoy the search and don't be concerned if you don't find anything on that trip, you can always come back later. we do it all the time when we shop for new stuff!!
I think you are lucky to have thrift shops with great finds, in my town we have two very small shops with very little merchandise. What they do have is way over priced. I found it interesting to go along on your shopping. By the way you have many years until you could possibly be a grandmother, you look like you are thirty at most.
Oh my goodness, loved what you got. I to decorate my farm house with thrift finds and I love going home, cleaning them up and seeing the beauty when i'm done. You definetely scored on the olive tree. I noticed Robin commented on your thrifting to and I love to watch her. I get so excited to see what yall are going to bring home!
Any tips on how to get the smell out of some thrift store finds? Sometimes leaving it outside for a while doesn't do the trick. Just found this channel and am loving it!
Hi Stephanie, This should help! Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3zh_GbNWeLg.html Blog Post: sheholdsdearly.com/12-tips-for-cleaning-vintage-finds/
Hi Sarah, i am a new follower and just now seeing your videos. My question, did you add the green berry looking things to your topiary? The one you put on your porch? I didn't see them while tou were on your thrift store haul, but did in the video. Nice touch to the topiary.
Sarah, I really enjoyed this thrifting video! Great finds, great taste, but most of all getting ideas for how to use the treasures you can find second hand! Thank you for sharing! I'd love to see any videos if you decide to branch out to FB Marketplace, auctions, or estate sales!!!
I just discovered your channel last night....Amazing! I binged watched several of them and even when hubby got up at Midnight to go to work I made him watch this and and the Farmhouse makeover....we loved them. Wanted to ask, we moved here in October from California and we live near Olympia....where is the thrift store you showed in this video....we are looking for some good ones since we had to get rid of 95% of our home to move here and we have no furniture and other major household items. We love thrifting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks.
@@SheHoldsDearly will have to check them out. Is the Value Thrift you show in this video in Seattle? Their prices were so good. The Value Thrift in Lacy is horribly high and so unorganized. I loved our Value Thrift in Escondido, CA...got my Fossil Sydney Satchel purse for 9.00 in camel and excellent condition. Thanks
I love thrifting, though I am a lot more careful what I buys since we are at the grandparents stage and don't need as much. I love what you found! Love the blocks!
New subscriber here ... I love what I have seen so far. I have a question ... it is about a color of green that I have seen now in a couple of videos (I am hoping that it is a paint color that you can turn me unto (greens are my favorite colors). It is the green that I saw on a stool or shelf on your porch where you put your Olive Tree Topiary. I am picky about greens & that green is one of the ones that I would love to add throughout my home. TIA ...
I love your style and videos. I love the information that you provide. As a nurse I am concerned for your health that you aren’t wearing a mask, along with everyone else in the store. The. CDC recommends wearing face coverings to limit the transmission of COVID 19.
I went to a Goodwill yesterday, which just opened recently in my area, and found the pickings to be not so good yet. I'm wondering if a lot of the items that came in during or after the lockdown have to be quarantined themselves before being placed up for sale. I did get a few neat things, though.
Love the cabinet you have outside on your porch! I like how you have it decorated, was wondering about it getting wet, though. Do you move it inside when it rains or cover it up?
Loved this! I’m not a big thrift person, mainly because I only have a Goodwill where I live which usually isn’t that great. That olive tree was such a steal!! I just love when you show us how you style what you have bought immediately instead of waiting until another vlog. Just one suggestion: if when you are talking you can cut the music that would be great. It’s a little distracting as I’m hanging on to your every word!🤣
Actually, a lot of people ask me that, and I really don't. Ask soon as I get home, all fabric items get clean thoroughly in my washer and dryer and I have never had a problem. Hope that helps!
Sometimes you've really got to look hard to find the one treasure among lots of other ... not so worthwhile pieces! ;) I hope you have better luck next time you go.
I find that it depends on the stores' location. We will go into almost any thrift store, especially if it is one we haven't been to before just to look, however, if I am looking for something in particular, we go to the better part of city's thrift stores. We also like to stop into small town's thrift stores and flea markets while we are traveling somewhere because country folk tend to hang onto their stuff longer and we can find treasures for our collections. My husband likes thrift stores better as we got burnt by those people who forgot to remove garage sale signs and having to drive all over trying to find garage sales that don't exist anymore. smile! The store is stationary and he can drive right to it and it's generally open all day long.
