My husband is Turkish, depending on the material they can sell for thousands. If there is fringe and one side is shorter it means the woman that made it is unmarried. I would rip that up off my kitchen floor and go to lowe's and get a rug and sell that Turkish rug.😊
Here’s a tip for broken figurines. Just write something cute about the damage on the tag. For instance I had a couple of elephant s&p shakers that were interlocking and one had a broken trunk. So I glued it back together and on the tag I wrote, “the Mrs has had a nose job , but she’s more confident now.” And it sold. I do it all the time. I would be inclined to buy something like that so I thought someone else may be to.
What I'd like to know...is what you priced the Victorian Wall Pocket for? Do you go by what you paid for it ( x 3 to5 ?) Or by the " listed price of what was shown? Also in contrast...the Angels at $1.91, do you list them around $4-5.00? Or closer to $8.-$10? I'm a new ( 6 months) booth owner and still struggling with pricing! I recently aquiried a Water Pitcher and 4 goblets ( in Murano style, (Golbal Amici?) I paid $25.00 at a church sale. Someone had donated them to the church. When I "Google lensed "it, the pitcher came up at $259-$289. And each goblet up to $ 40.00 each What do you do?
Pricing is hard. I do have a whole video on it you can check out for more info. I usually mark up all items 3-5 times what I paid, unless they are worth more...then I price to the what they are selling at, but if I got a good deal I pass it along to my customers with a slighter lower than expected price. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uRtSWNImU7g.htmlsi=gbNXSuBaXYyOTWw5
Always enjoy your thrifting videos and I love that you talk about your plans for the items. In general I don’t watch thrifting videos by others, but yours are helpful. Hands down our best find lately has been a uranium and silver liquid container my older daughter spotted in a small town thrift that had very little else of any interest it in. She has been offered up to $850 for it, but at her request it is in our family collection. The old saying that antique and vintage dealers keep their best stuff for themselves is more true than not for us sometimes. My younger daughter is a whiz at spotting valuable vintage glass. She recently turned a $3 purchase into a $90 sale. She doesn’t collect glass or especially like it, but she says she likes money. Lol
Sounds like your daughter has a great eye…one of the best dealers at my mall has her philosophy. He said he really doesn’t collect anything except money….😂
