You may never read this, but I wanted to tell you that I know all about ocular migraines. I'm 64 now & only have a few a year, but I really suffered through my 20's, 30's & 40's. I love your videos. I wish I could be right there with you!

I get Ocular migraines too. They're kind of trippy when you close your eyes and see the squiggly colors, but yes, you can't see very well for 20 minutes or so. I used to get actual migraines, which are hell on Earth, so the oculars don't bother me too much. I love the bookends you got! So simple, but so great. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanks Laura!

I loved the $1 brass necklace and would have kept that for myself. The Fall painting was really cute, as the other painting with the tall trees in it was really nice as well. It would take me hours to look thru some of these places and I would def need 2 hands lol.

Yes ma’am, I definitely know what ocular migraine is. I have them and they will shut you down. For a few years no one knew what was wrong even though I was describing the pain until so well until one day I hit upon the right doctor and it was completely out of his field. No one understands that pain!! I hope you’re feeling better now but, mine lasts for days at a time. You found some amazing pieces. I dearly love your channel. Keep on thrifting, my favorite thing to do.

I had two, but a female Egyptian Mau was dropped off at our apt complex and she got pregnant and I took her in when she had the kittens, and she had 5! They are gorgeous kittens, all different color Maus! I'm broke lol, but they are safe. Still haven't decided which we are going to keep. Fam says all lmao, but idk. They scare me though leaping through all my antiques 😱

Yes I get ocular migraines too, the first time I got one I thought that I was having a stroke, even though I was about your age at the time. That last shop that had the bookends had some great stuff, that Chinese chalkware head that you flashed on briefly is very collectible, they were designed in the 20's by a particular woman, they go in the low hundreds and up.

Ahhh that flower picture that was close to the wooden birds is what im always looking for.

I think the new necklace is more boho and the old one from ebay is more disco so I would keep the new one. I also think it would go with more outfits. Hope you have a happy holiday!

Laura, So glad you had a good time in the Tri-Cities. Just wanted you to know that the wood carved birds you purchased at your last stop were made by my dad. It was so funny to see you pick those up. After he retired in the 80’s he became very serious about his carving. Though he did sale a few pieces, most were given to family and friends. Next time you are in town I hope you stop Downton Mercantile in Downtown Kennewick. We have quite a fun store! Happy Pickin’!

I’d like to visit the northwest of the country. I’m from the east coast. Those hand chairs you ordered are very nice looking. I also really liked those bookends you purchased. I’ve had ocular migraines before too for me it’s like looking at things through water.

A little info on paintings for anyone looking to buy for themselves, as a gift, or for resell....the ones on boards (like that one you picked up) don't hold up very well usually. I have 3 brothers who are artists & the oldest loves using that kind of board (it's cheaper). However, they are easily damaged (we have 1 that the corners are all bent & it's warped over time), they aren't usually archival quality (again why they're cheaper), & if they get any moisture the paper (it's a cardboard/sheetrock type of board) it can come apart & gets moldy easier. They can be nice, but we actually pass those up when we find them.

Hi, I have watched several of the recycled life videos. Did not realize till recently that you ladies had other channels. I have enjoyed both tri-cities videos as I have been there several times since an old friend lives there. Have not gone to any of the thrift stores however, will have to do that next time I am there. The headache you described is also called a spiral migraine. The first time it happened to me - the spiral in my vision came first, our health manager at my work just happened to come into my office just after it started. She told me it was sign of a migraine coming on. She advised taking Ibuprofen, I did - and did not get a headache. This happens to me every so often now and as at least one other viewer commented - with no rhyme or reason. I always take the Ibuprofen right away and never get the headache, I do have to stop and rest my eyes till the spiral goes away.

Please keep doing the videos like this alone and so interesting you make things simply the best

Laura, I used to get terribly incapacitating migraines when I was about your age. The good news is I outgrew them, they stopped when I got older. I too experienced the kaleidoscope vision, & heaven help any lights that came my way. I drooled, felt sick, could hardly hold up my head. Here's a few things that helped when I had them, not saying they'll help you, but worth taking a look at. If I caught it early I could stop it early by taking an anti-inflammatory such as Advil. I had a wonderful prescription with codeine that was best, but changed countries & couldn't get the same prescription. If not caught early, still took Advil, but also did the following in this order: made myself cold, opened windows, kept house heat down, ate lots of ice cream until I was almost shivering. Laid down in a very dark cool room with cool linens for a nap. To fall asleep I imagined swimming beside whales. As these big creatures slowly but gently moved along, I imagined my body in sync with their rhythm until my heart rate slowed down to match. I'd peacefully fall asleep & wake up with the migraine gone. Maybe some of this will help. Anyone ever having a migraine knows how painful they can be.

I have been having the same horrible migraines this season. I told my children it is from the bright light that is not blocked by the canopy of trees now. It can also be from foods that you are allergic to. Hot dogs, chocolate, types of fish like herring, msg. I take Naproxen and it works well. I hope you feel better. I really like the owl wall hanging you found and the book ends are very interesting. I think I like the necklace you found to keep because you can hang other small things from the circles. That is not an easy decision. It is easier to sell what you are not attached to though. Good luck
