That was a great find on 6 oak schoolhouse chairs 🙌! For many years I have often wondered how many thousands of them are out there and where do we find them!
There is a Goodwill bookstore in Westlake, Ohio. We did check it out and bought a few books but generally the prices were higher than at the nearby thrift stores. Things were beautifully displayed and it felt like a library.
We have several Half Price Book stores still in the Houston area and many used book stores. I actually went in to a Goodwill this past Weekend and just kept shaking my head at the crazy high prices for everything! A sign said $5 for hardback books. Went to another thrift store and got two hardback books for $3.00 so there you go!
There is a Goodwill near me that has a regular store on one side and a book cafe on the other. The prices are too high for resale. The reason for the cafe is because they hold culinary classes in the educational building.
Sounds like a fun place to visit. I was in awe of the prices...some old books are too high to resell...but they really had great items and so nicely displayed and organized.
No we don't have one here in Ocean County NJ. We have Goodwill (the one by me is dirty, so i don't go there) but I'm sure that out of my area there are better Goodwill stores.
The GoodWill I usually go to (Southern CA) suddenly has no books on the shelves where they were, and an employee confirmed they'll no longer have them. I'll have to do some research and see if maybe they're going to have a separate book location.
I usually sell books for $3-$5 each. Color blocking packs are based on number of books and condition and rarity of color. An orange set sold for $20 for 3 books.
