I set out my Homer Laughlin Virginia Rose last night and this morning at breakfast my mom says.. I used to have two sets of this. And I said… these are yours.
Isnt that funny, this is something I would probably say to one of my kids, oh wait, I have! My girls then give me that sideways look and then I say, how did you manage to get that or those out of my possession? Then we all laugh and laugh!
I kept picturing that huge cream and green mixing bowl behind your head, with those lovely mums placed within. The celery vase is a great piece, and would work very well as a flower vase, which night be why it has some cloudiness. I don't believe we hold celery in such high regard today, and serving it authentically would probably baffle most people today. I love it when you're on your porch, it's very comforting, as if I'm hanging out with you there. Thanks!
What amazing finds. I thought the amber drinking glass was anchor Hocking or Libby. Yes the syrup picture is beautiful. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A 3
I found a cool lamp with the lampshade and original wiring etc last week. I was able to spot it because of what I learned in one of your videos. It is now safely rescued in my home.
Scott you know I stopped and clutched the pearls on that celery vase! I thought my favorite would be that syrup! Celery vase Adams & Company no.75 OMN AKA Post,Square Panes circa 1882 😍!!!! At that age she can be sick and still be a beauty!
Scott, you do realize that celery vase is roughly 140 years old?! Those Platonite cups and saucers were also marketed as demi tasse or after dinner coffee service. Candlewick was introduced in 1936 and some pieces were still being made when Imperial closed in 1984.
New subscriber, and new RU-vidr! I believe you’re my brother from another mother. I LOVE clear glass!! I always say on my channel that no one else wants it, so I get plenty. Just watched the video with the poppy carnival piece! Wow!!!! I LOVE your channel, and I’m here to stay. ❤
The ruby flashed piece is Westmoreland, Wakefield, and the single piece that you passed up is a open candy. Surprisingly valuable, maybe you can go back and get it.
That Philbe with the trivet! I want to make peach cobbler and macaroni and cheese in it! Oh that's kinda got in my head and won't get out. And that usually means I am supposed to get it! 😂
🥰love that charger!!!!also the willow platter, the celery, the Philby, the pink princess plate. My, oh my, great haul. And i love jigsaws, too😅you had a red letter day. Im gonna have to sit on my hands🤣🤣🤣
Vinnie would love your blue fish ashtray. He collects that set of tumbles & ice bucket. Very few ABP glass are marked. You can tell by the color (yes color) of the glass it's from one of the big glass houses and early half of the period.
Ima covet that Fostoria syrup and underpants......Please film re-doing the lovely black lamp. Celery Vase~ Adam's and co glass company (1861-1891) introduced in 1882. No. 75 AKA: Post or Square Panes. I'd be a bit cloudy too if I was 144 years old :)
“Wheeesh”, I have often used that sound when referring to movement. I have also had access to flowers from all over the continents. And when Fall starts in the air I run towards the lowly potted Mum. I will always look forward to them. ❤️🐩
Hi, I loved the green and cream mixing bowl. I imagine all types of breads rising in it, cakes, pancake batter, or scrambled eggs. Remember they had large families then. The pink sugar bowl and creamer would love to have. Did you find out who was the maker of those? Did they have matching dinnerware? Hope you had a great dinner with Mom and your Stepdad. You needed to be taken out to dinner, you spent a lot of time finding treasures for us to drool over. Later! Jersey Ann from NJ
Whoopie Fizz, indeed! That incredible cream and green bowl you found was probably used as a 'dough bowl' during the Depression when folks made their own homemade daily loaves of bread! They didn't typically make one loaf, they made several at a time, thus the need for a large bowl. That 'girl' was loved and used and she has seen some stuff! I love it! Also, yes, I fully expect to see 'flea bites' on most antique cut glass items, it's typical. However, it does not detract from their beauty! That Fostoria syrup set is 'Chef's Kiss' goodness! 😍
@catherinebyrne8628 Catherine let's do. How much was it? Have to check out the video and Can do 25.00 towards purchase. Why not ? Scott has given soon much pleasure to many people.
Scott, you are amazing at what you do! Have a nice dinner with Mom. The fact that you find sets of things, you are so blessed. Are you in Ocean Grove??
