Today, I visited two stores near me to go thrifting ... the Mission Thrift Store and our local Bins Store. The Mission Thrift Store is run by a group of volunteers and they are a not-for-profit store, which sends funds to local charities. It relies on donations of clothes and items from people in our neighbourhood.
The Bins Store is profit driven. It gets the hard goods from pallets of returns to places like Amazon, Walmart and various hardware stores. Their pricing is done on a tiered system - Thursday, they are closed to re-stock the bins. Friday, everything is $25 per item, Saturday, $20, Sunday $15, Monday $10, Tuesday $5 and Wednesday, everything is $2.99.
At the end of the video, I will be showing a haul portion of the items I picked up and their cost.
