Connie, your home is wonderful! I think when people say farmhouse , some make the “box” to small and consider items not farmhouse because it is not what is in a barn or primitive maybe. I think “farmhouse” is WHAT WE CHERISH AND LOVE! Think about farm families...their homes are filled with humble hearts and things they love. Now think of wealthy homes...they are filled with “stuff” that money bought! Not the humble love of farm”house” homes! I hope that makes sense? Your Grandmother’s quilt is certainly something to cherish. My neighbor is in her 80’s and ALL her quilts are hand sewn! She makes more than I can count! Every Military person she knows from either our little town or someone’s relative gets an “all American RED, WHITE & BLUE” hand made quilt! She is a Breast Cancer survivor, so she makes “Pink” Quilts! I watched her the last 3 weeks make 2 different ones ...gorgeous and not simple patterns either. She amazes me! Connie, I see on your Instagram wall , someone working with dogs through obstacles courses ( I don’t know the proper name for what it is called...other than amazing ! ) She that you? I am in awe when I see dogs do those. What work and training ! Well I will not write a book here....but your home is truly fabulous and I can tell “loved” by the way you speak about things and how you came to get them! Many “Thanks” and God bless your husband and many family members for their SERVICE to our great country ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Thank You... Thank you for the tour and God bless !

Thank you so much. You humble me with your comments. I have been training dogs for many years and compete with them, locally, and on the national level. I prefer the German shepherd breed but I’m partial to all dogs. I try very hard with my home to make it my own and I think that’s what important. I don’t want it to be cookie cutter. Connie Alexander German Shepards are gorgeous dogs ! Our daughter and her husband have a pure breed .... she is gorgeous and so great with the babies! People think of Shepard’s as police dogs and mean... but they are what you teach them! My daughter’s dog lets the 1 years old and 2 year old lay on her... FEED HER..LOL!!! But she is wonderful with those little ones! I do love to watch the Shepard’s compete... it is incredible and graceful to watch! GOOD LUCK ... and God bless !

Such a beautiful and tastefully decorated home. She is very good at vignette design too! I just want to add that she kept apologizing for things not being "farmhouse style" when in reality...that 1930's wardrobe would have been in a farmhouse (quite possible the Walton's). maybe "antique style farmhouse" decor is what we should call it. This is one of my favorite houses. I already see some good ideas. I was going to get rid of my drop leaf little kitchen table I replaced with a bigger one, but I think I’ll use it as a plant stand. I love the layered mirrors and I love all the collections. Everything is so crisp and well placed.
