2:25 - 2:36 quote from Bernard Herrmann "Psycho" :-) I love the way Jerry Goldsmith condensed everything that was before him, both in Classical and Golden Age Film music worlds, and developed his own original, highly sophisticated, unique style, so well adapted to motion picture medium. One of my favorite composers of all time ! The true "gems" of his style are already present in his early film, and TV works, and by listening to selections from "Thriller" episodes, one can clearly find melodic motifs and moods, that Goldsmith later re-used for his entire creative life. Elements and melodies of "Omen", "Basic Instinct" and so on, were already developed back then...
Beautiful, as always. Nice to see many of the musicians enjoying playing Mr. Goldsmith's music, too. But maybe next time you could try finding some Horn players that look even more annoyed and bored than those you had in this session. :) This CD is a sure buy for me, that is certain!
