​@@Kirmes_DE Die sind sehr unterschiedlich, denn der Schausteller wollte unbedingt, dass man von der Seite durch zwei Loopings hindurch gucken kann, was dazu geführt hat, dass man veraltete fast kreisrunde Loopings nehmen musste, weshalb die maximal erreichten G Kräfte viel höher waren, besonders wenn man hinten gesessen hat.

@@Jokkkke Rode this when it was built up outside Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden one summer, and I can absolutely confirm that the last loop was pretty awful! If you didn't press your head back towards the headrest - and I do mean press! - the start of the loop would jerk you forward, and those G's would then push on your head, neck and back harder than you would think humanly possible. I didn't come away from it with permanent damage or anything, but it wasn't comfortable at all, and there was NO WAY that I was gonna ride it a second time!

the headlines in Aftonbladet about people getting sent to hospital with whiplash injuries made it seem even more thrilling and awesome - It was definitely a badge of honour if you went on this ride!

Thriller did not have shoulder harnesses in the first couple of months.

@@isaacsweeney3915 I only got to ride it twice so I don't really remember too much about it. It did have a little bit of rattle though, the restraints that were added were bulky and the train was super tight to get into...

I have a laughing and the crying eye about that since it hurt my back when I rode it in 1986. It's sad to see Schwarzkopf's maybe greatest work of genius dismantled, but the 6.5 G circular loops are a mistake and are not safe for everyone. I wish they would find a way to keep all the good elements (like the original first drop and the overall feel of the layout) while making it a safe ride.

I rode it at astroworld but never in the back. And it absolutely was insane in the middle so that says something😂

Olympia Looping is my favourite, but I have never ridden Thriller. Anton, who filmed this has never ridden Olympia Looping, so who knows ? :-)

***** What, how dare you be so presumptuous. I have ridden Olympia Looping back in 1986 at the Oktoberfest the first year it opened. To be honest both Thriller and Olympia are both very good and equally intense rides. I prefer Thrillers first steeper drop though.

***** Steve you need to get some vintage Roller Coaster Magazine's out because you will find proof in there that I've ridden Olympia Looping as my on ride photos displayed in that Magazine will demonstrate. You will also find those photos in a later 1st Drop magazine dedicated to Schwarzkopf.

Andrew Marshall I beg your pardon it was actually 1989 when I rode the Olympia Looping three years after I went to Thriller official opening in Dusseldorf.

Well, that certainly rattled his cage !! Lol :-) They don't call him Anton for nothing. But the really good thing to come out of this is that we could have some early footage of Olympia Looping on the way, what say you Anton ? :-)

Anthony Martinez This ride was designed by Werner Stengel’s engineering firm. They were legends in the business and knew exactly what they were doing and exactly how intense it was, they were trying to create the most intense ride on earth. It wasn’t enough to truly hurt anyone seriously, but over the years it proved to be too much discomfort for many riders and different venues might have made adjustments like closing off cars or even eventually changing the layout to avoid trouble with patrons. It’s possible too that adjustments were due to engineers starting to see unforeseen stress on the track and structure, not an uncommon problem on the more intense coasters that were designed to be portable, even with a solid firm behind them.

I think some of the ride is filmed from the back car and I don't remember seeing any seats closed off before at German Fairs.

Yes, you are right the back seats were closed off because the g forces were considered too intense for public consumption. I took this film in 1997 at the last German fair that the ride ever operated at before it went to America and while we were there the operators allowed us one ride each in the back seat which was awesome. Needless to say I rode the back seat when the ride first opened in 1986 and then it was running furiously on a hot day with five trains in action. Sorry about the date mix up above I've finally got my facts straight on when I took this video.
