As a Malaysian for me it is a QF with mixed emotions with joy of Malaysia made it to SF after 8 years, but at the same time a tinge of sadness of Momota unable to play on his last Thomas Cup with his team went out. Kodai absence was clearly felt by Japan but the spirits shown by the Malaysian players paid off eventually ending three previous straight editions disappointment. MOTD - LJH with his confidence and morale recovery booster after painful loss from Chia and Soh earlier.
Being a Malaysian and a fan of Momota’s it was feeling complicated to watch this match, at heart I wanted my home country to win it all, while hoping Momota can also lift Japan their second Thomas Cup in the end. Happy retirement to one of the greatest men’s singles players ever. ❤❤❤
Malaysia was and is never an underdog on thomas cup.. the lowest they reach is quarterfinal.. averaging at semi final.. and once a while reach final for example 2014 thomas cup
@@Zheheng82 I am not only talking about vs Japan, but as an overall team formation going into Thomas Cup this year, we don't have the best line up.. but fortunately luck is on outside with the draws.
@@Zheheng82Malaysia IS the underdog. If you ask any fan from any country playin QF , they would 100% wanna play Malaysia. In the QF Malaysia is the weakest , it's Japan who didnt capitalize to drag Malaysia until 3rd MS. If this tie were to be brought to the last MS , Malaysia would most probably lost and this is coming from a Malaysian. So ultimately , Malaysia IS the underdog.
While i was glad my team made it to sf, but seeing momota unable to come out and play somehow makes me feel sad. Best of luck in his future endeavors after leaving the national team.
for the first time Team Malaysia goes SFinal after being underdog and out of sorts. Syabas now we see the light at the end of tunnel. Terima kasih kepada jurulatih BAM Dan pemain yg bersemangat tinggi . akhir kata harus perbaiki Dan persiapan mantap ke Olimpiade
the second team for double players are getting more matured and confidence than before.. they have shown their positive fighting spirit and attacklike ways of playing.. congratulations ....
Going into the quarter finals is a given but to the semifinal is something to behold. While LZJ performance was super but when our lead double fell, I thought that's it, cos our doubles performance is like the famous quotes from the movie Forest Gum " live is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you get" of course until you eat it. Fortunately, the piece of chocolate was a gem. Joon How performance was expected to fizzle out under such pressure as he did earlier. He surprised me with that solid performance. His win gave hope and inspiration to the second doubles. Kudos to them. For now the team should enjoy what they can, comes semifinal, it's a different level.
Malaysia 2 doubles pairs are a force to be reckoned with based on the past 3 matches played so far. We can beat China in the semis, if all of them play to their full potential.
Goh Sze Fei’s backhand closed off Momota’s career. As a Malaysian, even though I wanted Malaysia to win, I just wanted to watch Momota play one last time.
Let's go Malaysia! And missed opportunity in not showing Koga getting hit in the back by Saito and dancing around in mock pain at 19-15 in the first set!
he is on fire through out this Thomas cup... he was unlucky to lose to Axelsen who is on better form and luck... hope he can continue this form to Olympics
Leong Jun Hao played unbelievably too. I thought Watanabe would run him to death, but LJH woke up today and chose violence. He simply couldn't miss. I expected LZJ to have no problems with any Japanese player on their team, just stylistically, but 21-3? LMAO
@@meandermyself61 actually I expected him as backup in case one of the MD fail.... as his performance against Angus was pretty impressive... expect he have a chance to steal the match never thought he trash koki
For everyone who asking "where was kodai? Why he didn't play?" well from what I heard from the commentators, he had knee injury from a tournament before TC. He still joined TC tho. But after his match at group stage, his injury worsen.
@@meandermyself61 well, even if naraoka cannot beat LZJ, he still frees up nishimoto for MS2, where he will have much higher chance of winning, instead of letting nishimoto play MS1 where he cannot do anything. Basically 2 MS down the drain instead of one lol
@@raihanramli7417 Momota had a lot of good years before he got injured. Naraoka has by comparison achieved moderate success. Also, Naraoka might have Momota's speed and accuracy, and maybe his temperament, but he doesn't have the power that Momota did in his prime. Momota used to play the percentages, but when he wanted it, he had more weight of shot and variety.
LZJ beating Nishimoto was no surprise but what surprised me was the margin. In the 2nd single, Watanabe was totally out of form probably due to failure to cope with the pressure -- bearing in mind he had a convincing win over Li Chun yi . The 2nd double revealed that the Japanese pair was outclassed in terms of speed and net control... Anyway, see some promising players from Malaysia but the prospect for Japan was dim given the next generation still to come up.
what a bittersweet advancement to the semis. i wanna malaysia to be in the sf but then i wanna see momota play with our talented justin for the last time. farewell momota ❤️
You want Yuta pair with whom??? Both japanese pairs already have their best chemistry, why would they take a risk to send a scratch pair in quarter final... Not a time to experiment... And if Japan play with scratch pair and lost, then you will argue why they split the original pairs already whatsoever...
Malaysia will need strong teamwork on Saturday to overcome China. Their constant success since the 60s when playing cohesively is a positive sign, but China remains a formidable opponent. - Malaysia Boleh
The Malaysia's squad consist of officials more than players sitting in the box. Unlike other countries all players are sitting together... An opportunity for others to go makan angin? How is the actual spending of BAM?
@@jeremyjosh3058 IF YOU ARE NOT SEEING THIS FORM, OUR FORM, BETTER TO STAY SIT AND WATCH OUR GAME WHICH IS TRULY CHAMPIONS PLAY. MALAYSIA CHAMPION THOMAS CUP 2024
Appreciate your enthusiasm but you need to calm down 😂. Malaysia will go against the no.1 seeds and a full strength China team, in China! So 99.9% chance it will end in a defeat but I hope Malaysia will put up at least a good fight.
Happiness end here. no chance at all against china. lzj vs syq - lzj never win syq at all since 2018. ljh vs lsf - no chance at all. justin vs lgz or why - also no chance at all. aaron wooi- liang wang - how to win rank 1 ? our pair never win this chinese pair before dinfei vs liu-ou - 50/50. Even if miracle go final, also no chance vs denmark or indo. denmark all singles top form. indo got ginting and jojo peak form.
@@issactmk50 is it? my mistake. but then again yea, 6-1 record. so not much hope especially its home crowd. i hope denmark to win. they deserve it after so long. they have the best lineup this time. also thomas cup is dominated by asia. hope denmark get it. too boring if china or indo.
