How do you deal with failure in grad school?
Do things in graduate school and in academia because you enjoy the process, and not the outcomes that you actually get.
You have to constantly be repeating to yourself then it’s all about the journey, and not about what other people view you as when you’re doing the journey.

I depends on which class it is. But yes grad school is def. tough. The class I'm taking now finance 605 the professor completely sucks and doesn't really even teach the class. I learn more watching youtube videos of the material versus his lecture material and or all the material in general. Most of the time other students are teaching his classes verses him teaching the class which makes zero sense to me. This is why the college system is so broken and people question whether college is even really worth it. But I'm going to keep my chin up and keep pushing through!!

First year in grad school. I'm taking stats in R I've gotten two 66s on two tests. Failing for my program is a C I have to do perfect the rest of the semester to not lose my GRA. I feel like you do. I don't know what to do other than double down my studying ( was already studying it near continuously)

First year grad school for Geology/Volcanology. My grades are ok but I keep getting told my knowledge and understanding of the methods I'm using for my thesis are lacking. Its very discouraging when you work for hours upon hours just to fail and not meet expectations. I also feel like I don't belong and they will throw me out. I'm fearful of my thesis presentation in the spring. How are both you doing after one year?

I am glad you made the video. In my experience, the professors were very unkind in grad school. Their focus was on me, not the other men in the program. When I asked students in other programs, they said that they were not experiencing this. I left the program and am looking for a more welcoming place.
