Killer sounding Les Paul. I do the same thing with the blending of the pickups on my 82 deluxe. I usually have both on, Bridge full up and the neck just a hair down from the top of the pot. The clarity increases noticeably. I think it is because the pickups are no longer loading each other down by being shorted across each other. Dropping the neck volume puts a bit of impedance between the pickups and allows each of their resonances to not be killed by the low impedance of the other pickup across them. I find this funny because for many years I wouldn't use the middle position at all because of the drop in dynamics and clarity. I love my Deluxe even though it is 12.5 lbs

Sounds amazing. Did you solder the Les Paul to have independent wiring? It's slightly different to 50s wiring. As for the resistor on the pots. How many pots need the resistor? Only the volume pots? Thanks...
