Not a bad idea, I might take this approach for MMOs I continue to play into the hundreds of hours, it’s more content and although not every game will keep me playing that long your perspective is more balanced for sure, any game that’s given me a couple hundred hours of entertainment has something going for it, even if it’s got a bunch of issues.

healing dungeons in this game really opens your eyes to how stupid most people are because even at max level nearly all of my groups refused to block any of the BIG OBVIOUS ATTACKS
I aint a healer, but I have noticed this a lot.. I have lost count how many times its only been me as a GS/CB and healer are left, because everyone else just doesnt bother blocking those majoy attacks... I have quit many dungeons because of these stupid people...

I don't know why there's so many comments bashing him for providing honest feedback. Most of what he says is legit especially as it relates to the movement, targeting and usage of certain skills. That doesn't make the game bad or not fun or not worth playing. He's simply making a case to what will make the game more enjoyable. I personally fucking go livid when I try to dash forward but the cursor goes backwards. Not fun. Most of what he mentions can be polished up and should be brought up to the developers. All that's going to do is make an already awesome game better
@@chester8459not that hard? this game cycle ended people is now logging in a off from dailies just like your wows ffxiv etc games, idk why u seem surprised, people quit lost ark once they reached T3
another problem i find, (my opinion) is the huge disadvantage some classes have against others, for example greatsword has 5 stuns but crossbow has none. No diminishing returns. Bow does tornado a spell that makes you airborne and unable to do anything, but can hit you with abilities that are targeted in a straight line. Tank is super tanky(obviously) but does way too much damage and gets none. Blocking is also shit.
These "global audience" appeasements always turn out to just annoy everyone. What do they take western gamers for? Kotaku readers? Quite insulting ngl.
I noticed the most important slider was missing when i was creating my alt. I was confused because I remembered it was there in the beta so I was quite upset about it.
This is a solid complaint. As you pointed out, smaller guilds with 20 to 40 active players have barely any content left because of these mega guilds. For example, I can never participate in the Junobote world boss event, which is supposed to be peaceful. Instead, the zone shifts to PvP mode, and the top guild, along with its subsidiaries, blocks the entrance and kills everyone. It’s frustrating to see one guild, with all its allies, ruining the experience for everyone else. It's the biggest issue I have with the game.
My guild along with 6 others are alliance to combat this in my server. The top guild is allying with a lot of smaller guilds but we are countering that by allying with other top guilds to keep the server fair and in check as much as possible.
the movement, especially the morphing and grappling in this game feels like im an obese walrus dragging myself through shards of broken glass and rusty nails
10:27 I guess a lot of people still doesn't know this but you can block your falling damage with Q, you don't need to glide from that grapple you can just press Q
Ive tried this managed to be able to do it once, because for some reason when I jump from more then 5ft high my character likes to rubber band, so I have hit the ground and either died or almost died.
gonna say it- FALL DAMAGE IN A GAME WHERE YOU ARE PRACTICALLY A DEMIGOD IS OBJECTIVELY ABYSMALLY BAD. We can turn into birds and nosedive straight into the ground and -magically- take NO damage. But the moment your human foot touches ground from anything higher than a 2ft jump, OOO BOI OUCH OWIE OOF
@@emptyasmrmanwhy is it weird? He makes a great point. Even though it might not make or break the game experience it goes straight into the pile of other questionable design decisions.
I was having an absolute blast playing Throne And Liberty despite the lack of a boob slider but the longer I played the more impactful many of the issues described here became for me. The one that killed it for me however was the lack of depth in non-combat activities. I'm a little spoiled by BDO I suppose but the Life Skills gameplay added so much depth to the game that I'd often do just that stuff and not engage in any combat during a session. Farming, fishing, gathering, trading, building my own ship, etc. There was so much to do. Throne and Liberty by contrast feels like it could have been a mobile game. The only thing you really do is fight and everything else is geared towards making you do bigger numbers when you fight. That got boring quickly. Add in all the issues with the actual combat gameplay, the shallow endgame experience, and all the Guild BS and I couldn't find any reasons to keep going. I'll check back if any of this stuff gets addressed but I have my doubts.
I'm playing TnL because of your prior video. I am actually more comfortable with the combat (Longbow/Dagger) than I ever was in years of playing ESO and New World. My character is similar to your Alt, with Level 9 Blue gear (2,585 GS). My issue with TnL is that getting the right 3 traits for each of 3 levels for each of 13 items (117 traits) was ridiculously complicated, confusing and onerous. (Getting around 2,000 Growthstones was challenging enough.) Later, when you transfer a Blue item into a Purple, the traits are all lost and you receive enough Pity (called "Blessings") for 2 of the 12 purple traits you need. I'm not enough of a masochist to go through that grind for another 130 (10 x 13) purple traits when I would also need a few thousand purple growthstones and skill books.
I've been enjoying the game but I found that evasion stacking makes PVP really unfun. In combination with CC having a percent hit chance (mentioned in the video), it turns a lot of fights into "who had better evade/hit RNG". Especially when your big powerful ability just misses and you can't do it again for 30 seconds.
Its either you dont pvp or boost your hit chance. Nothing wrong with the game mechanics. This is a korean game. The one with the best gear wins. Its either you have no life or you swipe. If you are neither then just enjoy the PvE content
Even though I'm a PvE player and most of your comments are about PvP, I appreciate this video. You have given very specific changes that should be easy to implement. I think this shows that you like the game and put time and effort into coming up with these ideas. I'm really enjoying this game so far. Most of the things I hate about BDO are not in this game and many of the things I like about WoW and GW2 are in this game. I'd like to see 20-30 player raids like you mentioned and more developed NPC storylines to add to immersion. As an example, WoW has the Gadgetzan faction with its own lore and town designs. Also, I think your video prompted me to try the game so that is appreciated and I think NCSoft should pay attention to your feedback.
ironically the game is pretty enjoyable for a non-hardcore PvE player, and it's dogshit for PvP heads. The PvP is terrible, and I'm not taking p2w into this. It's just bad scaled, mitigation mechanics feels off, there's literally no skill involved just some weird RNG and stunlocks
so as a GW2 player, you've been enjoying the game? GW2 is the only MMO that's every hooked me. I tried the beta demo for T&L but wasn't immediately hooked or all that interested. but I like hearing what other GW2 players enjoy, so I might circle back to it eventually. I'm not currently playing GW2 (or any MMO).
@@hoofhearted4 It might be worth another try. It’s pretty quick to get to level 50, at least when compared to New World on release and then you can try the open world dungeons which are quite a lot of fun and getting into a group there is the easiest I’ve ever seen. I’ve not seen any toxic behavior in any group I’ve been in so far and it’s mostly been random groups for the dungeons and world bosses. It’s turning this solo MMO player into a group player it seems. Since it’s built on Unreal Engine, theoretically it’s got lots of room for future improvements. Games built on custom engines typically can’t invest the money required to make any real improvements but Epic has lots of tools for migration to the newer engine.
I don't see much to look forward to in terms of PvE sadly. Every boss seems like a loot pinata and most of its purpose is to drive guilds to PvP for it via better loot, while its spells being kinda funny when they wreak havoc in a big PvP fight but otherwise trivial. Dungeons are pretty minimalistic with only 1 boss that does anything so idk what to expect. The clunkiness of movement and desync can make even the simplest PvE tasks dysfunctional, for example Duke Magna's stomp where you have to jump has the weirdest timing where trying to intuit the timing gets you desynced back onto the ground - you have to do it earlier than it seems AND step out of the boss as melee so you don't get body blocked. Fights like Shaikal are cool so maybe they can put together something good idk.
Yeah for small instanced pve it is not so bad, u can get to max lvl in couple chill days and using lvling gear go to any 50lvl dungeon, mechanics are pretty easy yet still fun. I totally agree that the hardest enemy in this game is movement and terrain 😅 No way comparing this game to GW2 which is far deeper game, but as some fresh and new thing I advice to give it a try. Hope devs invest more in PvE open world and more scalable instanced content as this will gain more player base
I just want them to add more actual non Daily lock out content, like KR has basically Mythic+ dungeons, and getting actual Instanced 12 player raids in Jan next year... If they dont start pumping in the content KR has, were going to have a Lost Ark situation on our hands (was too far behind KR for FAR TOO LONG, causing player base to bore and burn out and quit before they actually released the meat and bones of the content that the KR region had.....)
I think there's a big issue with world boss loot being parts of armor sets needed for builds. You would need a guild to give you 3 of the same item just to get the set you need to be competitive.
The complaint about the mega alliance is spot on. Guilds with less than 40 consistently active players die. It's about getting strong enough to be in the mega alliance. If you're not, there's little incentive to stay.
23: About devastating smash. I'm not sure why I haven't heard much compliant but I think body blocking/collision needs to be removed. It makes melee combat feel garbage and I can't count how many times I've used devastating smash into my charged combo and found myself on top of enemies due to collision, slide off, then slide out of range, and then be forced to recast. It's also TERRIBLE design that grapple NEEDS stamina. I was wondering why sometimes it simply does not work and later saw my stamina bar drain after grappling and connected the dots. I'm not sure if that only happens if you're in combat or take damage from falling and get put into "combat" but either way it should not require stamina under any circumstance when damn near everything wants to take from your one stamina bar. One more thing about collision I hate is when im in a dungeon and I'm casting my big damage... and then my tank or other party members runs into me and then proceedes to push me out of range.
My guild died a few days after launch. We barely have 5 online at one time and haven’t raided in weeks. Game is fun but the reliance on other people is what’s kinda killing it for me. The game is SO DEPENDENT on team play but it’s still a good game imo. Just want to play more things solo
That's fundamentally the issue of the game. When two alliances monopolize the end game. The people most interested in the game flock to them. While locking out the others from ever participating.
@@benjaherrera3299 This MMO shoves team play down your throat way more than any other I've ever played. I feel like it's just not really possible to play this game solo.

If I had 1 lucent for every time targeting for skill shots got stuck on terrain, then I'd have enough to fully gear both my characters and never have to engage with the lackluster endgame.
The most spot on TnL on RU-vid that finally someone that experienced the real end game and its pros and cons. Very well done and as someone in the same exact position in game as you, I agree with 100% of what you’ve said. I hope the devs listen. This has the potential to be a legendary game for years if managed correctly.
due to the absolutely bad combat and there being not enough casual lifeskilling in the game I quit after reaching endgame. I don't see the game being anything for me in the long run.
10:12 there’s literally a setting you can activate that bypasses that. It’s along the lines of “pick new target if using ability with no target selected”. I feel like it was a huge improvement to my QoL in combat. Any active player count number that come from that are mostly just guessing. What we do know is that it’s frequently about 184,000 people playing in the highest peak concurrent hour and in the wee hours of the morning Eastern time mind you it’s like 100,000 people playing, but those numbers are for steam alone I suspect, although no way to prove they’re much higher on and Xbox. Any case that’s not an active player account number. And as an example currently there are 100,000+ people playing the game at 4 AM Eastern time zone. In the last 24 hours the highest peak concurrent player count I.E the most people playing it in a given hour was 184,000, which has pretty much become the baseline
Some skills and/or augments of skills feel rushed and are just useless by just having bad effects or requiring stupidly situational effects to get the same effects that other skills get without the conditional triggers. Here are some that are mostly just from my used weapons. -Bow and crossbow passives that get affected by windspeed. At least dungeons don't seem to have wind. -Longbow and Crossbow each have one or two skills that create a Whirlpool area (movement speed area), which is also a requirement for some skills to gain the use of their augments. For example Longbow's Decisive Sniping grants 20% faster charging time, while another weapon's change attack would gain this benefit just from gaining the augment. -Decisive sniping also has another augment, which also provides incresed maximum charge time with the benefit of increased maximum damage, which just doesnt grant extra dps. -Decisive sniping also gets damage boost augment, but it only works on cc:d targets, which most bosses are immune to. In addition because players cant benefit from each others' debuffs that were placed on the enemy unless specified in the skill, the Longbow can only gain this benefit on normal targets with it's one cc skill, which binds the target. -Crossbow and longbow both have augments with Gale status, but Longbow alone doesn't have nearly enough ways to trigger the gale stacks by reaching 10 stacks. (and one of these Longbow skill augments does increased damage per gale stack). These should just be simplified to damage increases or gale should get reworked. -Crossbow's Recoil shot augment lets you stack three stacks of Repulsive force to consume all three stacks to do triple damage, but why not just do normal recoil shot each stack for the same damage. Not to mention that you need to use all of your stamina to get enough dashes for the stacks. -Crossbow's Mortal mark's duration is too short to use if effectively. -Staff has lots of synergies, maybe even too many for a normal player to keep up, but at least they got options. -Tome's Ray of Disaster gets an augment that lets it do 100% MORE damage and 50% LESS cooldown, sure it's effect isnt that great but for 5 points having that on any damage skill would be great. -Some augments like Fountain's of life's mana gain needs to scale with the skill's level. -There is no reason why SW's Shield throw's bounce augment shouldn't just bounce farther distances. Augments either need more options, removing too complicated augments or increasing the amount of possible synergies. Some skill descriptions are just badly translated and just don't clearly explain how they work. Examples: -Longbow skills uses keywords like Bullseye and Mark, while also using the word Bullseye for the name of an augment that has nothing to do with the keyword Bullseye. -Crossbow's Recoil shot explains that it requires a stack of Repulsive force to be used and that the skill Nimble leap grants Repulsive Force. It does not mention that Any dash skill and dodge roll also grants Repulsive Force. -Crossbow's fire arrow enchantment is just described as having the same effect as a skill of another weapon's skill's burn. Having to got that extra mile to learn what it does it just plain stupid. Some status effects with some weapons are just useless. -Crossbow Burn doesnt actually do much damage compared to poison (burn does damage in tens per second, while poison does hundreds per second. For some reason burn only has three second duration with max stack of 10). -Crossbow Frost's 10% slow feels useless on its own. It should at least affect attack speed. (only has one second duration) Tbh l don't understand why each different source of burn and frost does different amount of damage/debuff amount/duration
WvW is my favorite part of guild wars 2 and was the thing I played the most, I stopped because the devs don’t really show much love to PVP and I also prefer the feeling of Guilds fighting Guilds rather than Faction v Faction, still enjoyable though, just wish Guild Wars had more “Guild Wars” if that makes sense
The pb with gw2 zerg are simple to fix. 1/ no limit on aoe targets. 2/ no downed state. (Or nerf the hp to the ground and get rid of the abilities.) 3/ give more tools to dispel boon balls. Done. But they will never do it.
I've put 170 hour into the game. You've hit the nail on the head for most of my gripes. It's a 7.5/10 game that I have a hard time putting down and if they fix most of these issues it's easily a 9.5/10
Generous. It's broken in more than what he stated. The new player experience will kill it. They have to redesign a lot. It's more than some bug fixes. You walk in the game and u have 20 small menus everywhere
@ngc4486diane lol, kanon litterally said many times a f2p player can easily kill a p2w player. Because of class counters... i am only 2.854 and i can kill everyone in 1 combo except tanks as a greatsword dagger...
I would love to see the developers adopt Guild Wars 2’s combat system with all its elemental features. Having abilities with unique effects and elements that can interact with one another-for example, a water field combined with an explosion or fire could create steam, granting an invisibility effect-would be amazing. In my opinion, Guild Wars 2 has the best PvP combat system any MMO has introduced to date. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t kept up with the times, and the graphics now look quite outdated. I see many parallels between this game and Guild Wars 2, though I understand it's a Korean game and that brings its own unique considerations. I really hope the developers stay committed and continue improving this game because it has so much potential! Greetings from Germany/Thailand! 🌍
One pretty simple thing I would love to see is some basic glow/sparkle effect on your armor/weapon when it is upgraded. Can start with some basic glow on green items, heavy glow on blue items and glow and lightning effect on purple items. This was a cool thing in the game called Last Chaos. You could upgrade your weapon to +15 in that game and it was glowing with lightning effects 🙂. When upgrading the armor, you got a fairy flying over your right shoulder that was glowing more the higher your upgraded weapon was.
Dude, im so proud of you man. bumbed into you on the streets of Zwolle couple years ago. you have done good so far. been following from the start of BDO days. Keep up the grind ( personal and Game wise)
Great video! ❤️ The idea of small guild content is great - capstones that are limited to small guilds and an option to mark your guild as a small guild, limiting members to about 20/25 instead would be amazing. Also think they should make it so that if ypu join a guild with another character, it does't take up a slot, as you cant be logged on to both anyways. I also think they could makecsmaller forts for siege battles, or even a faction system, in the new area, where you have open world pvp with keeps/castles like DAOC! I'll make a video 😁
@@shinvolcano it will definitely be a niche title. it does a lot of things right, but too many core features are mobile-y in nature and rewards only the swipers. the argument of 'its not p2w, lucent can be earned!!!' is cringe because the amount of time it takes to earn the amount of a lucent that another player can obtain through just swiping is absurd. yes you can farm abyssal dungeons for 8 hours to make a profit of 350 lucent on average (probably less if you aren't lucky - and fuck the tax system in this game); no this isn't fun and shouldn't be used as an argument to claim that this game isn't p2w. the average player does not have the time nor the energy to do this
You have 1 small mistake, the 21 is intented , they hide it in the bosses tower to make it a bit harder. The Block mechanic is a bit weird when it comes to range attacks, you can delay you block until you see the projectile
I am amazed that MMOs still struggle with movement abilities like blink getting stuck on the terrain. There is simple fix (that can cause minor other problems if people try to use it for exploiting). Simply cause "blink" skill to offset hitbox little bit higher on start and return at the end (can cause visual bugs with high latecy). Or change how blink works and make the end of blink always end in mid air like a 1 feet above the ground + add fitting animation and reason for it to happen that way.
What changed is the whale pvp guilds dominating every conflict, pvp itself being a 0 iq stunlock, crowd control fest and gear based without any skill required and 99% of all gear being unsellable garbage if it has a mediocre/bad trait, the only enjoyable thing in this game is the pve content which is super unrewarding compared to conflict bosses, cooking and fishing are worthless and you have no actual crafting profession in this game to level and alternatively make profit from so this game was fun for a week until you actually learn the formula and realize what a waste of time it is
PvP is part of the game, but you can still put in hours of time in the PvE, and working towards a PvE focused end game build. Nothing in the game forces you to PvP. Sometimes, it helps to go into a competitive game with a clear understanding of what kind of player you are and what you want to get out of it. If it's fun times with friends beating up monsters and collecting gear than great, you can put time into that and nothing else. If you want balanced PvP....there are MOBAs and plenty of other genres where it's just you and your skill versus other people and their skill.
i quit due to my work cancelling my off time at launch, in addition to the large scale pvp just being a face to keyboard, if it was just 70 max in open world i think the game would feel alot better, specially cause they can make alliances work only in the siege
13 is so counter intuitive. All your pointed out issues are 10/10. Love the game, hope they get on top of it. Range in general also feels like trash. (I know why they went with it) but it feels to forced. There is a ton of content/modes coming for small, med groups also, so there is a lot to look forward to. Removing sliders because of annoying useless people when the far majority want them is just cancer. Tbh they need to make the chain lock on just supersize or something, even objects, npcs etc near them can literally throw you off to. The fact its in important content and forced is so ugh. Hell if in the area it isn't killing you, or even just not working at all LOL, even when you do fly theres a pretty huge chance you get that issue where your flight mod T poses and you crash to the ground. All of that is compounded when dropping off a 1' ledge kills you.. Who''s idiotic idea was that. Also because of the super low pings in SK I bet they did not do any testing for how building around that would effect all of in global with even normal pings lol.
This game was fun for a week and a half for me. On my server, top guilds began dominating the game and zones quite early and started constantly flood chat with nonsense. On top of that, bots. I even got mails from bots about external services lol. The game has good stuff going on but since it's heavily PvP focused and I am not in a top guild neither do I want to, I am also not going to invest HUNDREDS of hours in the game to get better gear. It's a great game but I think it's only for a relatively focused type of players. That said, though, I don't see this game falling short soon anyways, which is good. Will still be waiting for a more PvE focused game similar to the style of this one (big open world, lots of dungeons, etc). I really enjoyed the early days
This. I play a multitude of games, I have content for months. Lots of jobless or “influencer” types who play like 10-12 hours a day every day in a brand new game then complain about lack of content will always sound insane to me.
I am new to the game, and I play on console. I personally have a few negatives about some things I've experienced. The first thing I came to experience is how the controller set up feels very uncomfortable vs other mmorpgs. Like having both my trigger buttons for skills (that's fine). However, adding one of my bumper buttons for an extra skill set and the other button bumper is used to auto attack (why do I need a particular button to initiate auto attack?) Also, some of the settings for controls are missing on console that is a PC. Like being able to auto target enemies in front of you. Another thing is the first time I did a dungeon. Apparently, you're able to start the boss fight at whatever time, no matter who is there (Maybe this is only in the first dungeon). There were times that I was just not able to make it to the fight and not be able to attend it, thus making me not able to retrieve rewards. (For example, like dying right before getting to the boss or helping another teammate.) I would hope that they could enforce a "Ready" system before starting a boss fight or a teleport mechanic that will port you into the fight after a few seconds of closing it.
As a casual PvE player going along with my friends, I haven’t had as much fun in an MMO in YEARS. I love the combat, the exploration and the dungeons. I’m very excited to see where it goes and what they add. We are only a couple weeks into the game lol. They are being very receptive to the community so I have hopes that some major changes come to the world boss loot system. But pvp is trash, and I mean in general, there’s never been a fun pvp in mmo’s. It’s for shitters who live off the meta and genuinely don’t have lives. It has NEVER been done well and it can’t be.
yeah the PvE is really the strong point of TL. In other hand the PvP remember me of WoW's PvP, a big ass meta MEME with bad scaling, exaggerated amounts of CC and brainless zergfests. I'll stay in the game cause the PvE so far is one of the best I've played in mmos.
Really also enjoy pve and dislike pvp. Or at least I want to engage in pvp when I choose to, not to have enforced on me. But I do think there should be pvp in the game for the people who enjoy it. Endgame in throne of liberty are more oriented to pvp, which i think is fine because that is what the creators intended. But I wouldn't be sad if they had only pve servers xD
The cash price for south america is horrible, here most things arent being sold and when they are it is very expensive or really cheap, here most blue traits are worth 10 lucent but a purple heavy attack is worth 2000. Most of people from here are creating NA characters only to farm and bring cash to SA
Man you were really spot on, but if someone that doesn't play the game watches the video they might get the wrong impression, yes there are a shit ton of things that need to be fixed, but at the same time the game is sti amazing, and one the things I love is the community, especially when you are in a organised guild, it is amazing
his impression is correct. Coming from the same server he is on that is the experience. It's full of mega alliances and there are others similar. It's not fun if you have zero chance of winning.
Agreed, this gave the vibe that the game is dead and horrible. The game is fucking amazing outside of these points and the way this video got people trying to shit on it having zero idea about what the game actually is.
This is the first mmorpg that I have genuinely enjoyed in such a long time I am super addicted but as you mentioned there are some immersion breaking and gamebreaking flaws that just drive me crazy. I am 100% getting tired of having to summon a diff amitoi and then having to summon the shark amitoi back. He gets broken and you miss out on loot if you don't catch it 😅i want to see this game improve but I am seriously enjoying it. Great vid! Hoping devs watch feedback vids like this!
@remingtonsummers6802 they just have cosmetic differences. However make sure you have world tree leaves in ur inventory because all amitois can heal you! you can set what level of health they will heal you on in your settings😊
Throne and Liberty is THE MOST p2w game ive seen in the past 10+ years. Anyone who puts even 20-30 hours into this, reaching blue gear will see how ridiculously insane the levelup system is (That can be completely skipped with a credit card). You level up your Weapons, Armors, Accessories, AND skills, each requiring resources of their own tier which require multiple resources of the previous tier, which funnel down to grays. Its blatantly obvious to anyone who has played the game where its going. Getting to max level tier of even most of your gear/spells you use will be literally impossible without a creditcard, and as you approach that feat, a new update will add higher tiers to equipment, where the whales can then jump back ahead again, in an endless loop. Even hardcore NEETs who can invest 40+ hours a week into this game will realize the time gated mechanics stop you from competing with whales. RU-vidrs talking about "meta" classes are completely moot, as no matter what class combo you are, you will NEVER be able to 1vs1 a whale, and reversely no matter the class combo of a whale, they will never lose if they actually try. Any youtubers saying this game is good, is most certainly being paid to do so. Yeah, the game is kinda fun, it plays like Archeage, but anyone investing time into this already has Stockholm syndrome, or are a paypiggy themselves.
Good video, would like to see general bugfixes on movement/terrain block things you mentioned. But also, for us Australian players there is no Australian servers (despite new world had them) there is only Oceania servers. So we are stuck on ~130 ms ping with no option but to take it. The jump puzzles get very frustrating when you rubber band back 50 metres. There's probably other locations that suffer from this too I'm guessing.
While I understand that making such games is no small feat, I really don't understand why so many of them fail when it comes to end-game. These days players BLITZ through content so having people get to the end only to find little if anything to do is mind boggling. If I had a dev team working on a game like this, a portion of them would 1000% be dedicated to building and fleshing out end-game.
Holy Hell. Game can't be THAT bad if you already sunk 200+ hours! Love your videos! I already wanna try out the game for the whale. It makes me miss old maplestory before you could warp everywhere. Everyone coming together to travel together on the flying ship to Orbis & Ludibrium
It was great for 100 hours so no regrets. I quit however, the P2W is insane. People are swiping en mass in guilds. I have seen combat power 3800 players. I was not paying at all and was 2600 and that was 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have since quit though because if I wanted to stand a chance in pvp I'd have to start swiping. To upgrade your traits on purples you need that same purple with that same trait or else its a 10% chance of "upgrading". Do you want heavy attack? Well start getting weapons with heavy attack traits and pray for some good RNG. Oh don't worry blessing can increase that by 8% if you have a little bit saved up. Yeah 18% what great odds. Otherwise, you can just get that same weapon again and hope it has heavy attack for a much higher chance of success. The idea of upgrading gear requiring you to get that same gear piece 5 times is EXTREMELY stupid. Only koreans could come up with this crap.
@@Tumultulous yeah is like I hate this music but Ive listing it for hours on repeat... peon is just and edgy boy angry because he was wrong about this game so he has to criticize anything about it.
@@songoku6067 extracts pretty expensive lol. Grind for a few hours in a zone, or just do the co-op dungeons, and youll get lucky and find some stuff to extract. Ive made 5k the moment i realize I can use my eyes and find out which extracts worth selling.
Really good list of all the things that feel clunky right now. The game has so much good content on the way - I really hope they just drill down on the *feel* of moving, attacking, grappling, etc. If they do this game will stick around for a long time.
A lot of players from Southeast Asia and Japan, myself included, are having trouble with the timing of the Riftstone/Boonstone War, especially those with jobs. Shifting it one hour later would allow more players, particularly Japanese guilds, to participate fully, as many can’t join due to work commitments.
In my opinion most people who said there is nothing to do for end game usually people who swipes money to speed up the grind and since they skip it they feel like they have nothing to do because for me there are so much thing i have to do left, finding the right traits, grinding the gears, finishing contracts, litho, tower, finding the ball thingy, guild raids, fishing, cooking, looking for books and so much more
@@kyoden1928whats wrong with new world now? seems the recent update is a step in the right direction. please don't tell me that you are one of those "only gear is content so theres no new content" people. thats just a silly way to think
@@aries4378 yea it failed cuz lacked enough p2w for korean slaves and was being maintained by western audience? which btw were probably more people than the 4-7k new world had for a year Lol
One of the most annoying things I encountered is allies gatekeeping content by using eclipse and killing anyone approaching an objective who doesn't belong to them OR PAYING protection money / a fee to not be killed on sight.
My girlfriend tried this game and her first complaint was “why can’t I have big titties, why do they only let me look like a boy”. They take away the ability for women to feel feminine, why? Do they think men are the only ones who want their FEMALE character to look like an actual woman? It’s so weird to me.
I mean this in a very genuine way even though it’s coming off in a hater vibe. Please stop posting about this pay to speed up pay to win or whatever garbage. Same old Korean MMO. Get OFF the payroll. You and asmon gotta cut the crap. Not playing it
I cant believe people are back on this game after its initial failures and fallbacks. This makes me sad to see the state of gaming and how desperate we are for something borderline mediocre.
@@edwardrichard8093 "go back to trash games" Throne and Liberty just released globally lol. Just because some people think the KR version is bad doesnt mean the other versions bad, ffs.
Very good points added for them to improve! Hope they listen and take notice of what you've just given them. All of them are noticeable and disturbing the gameplay for me and probably everyone else!
I remember the days when you couldn’t even jump in guild wars one! Let alone move when jumping lol The main pointless think in this game for me personally, on Xbox series x, world bosses drop to what feels like 2fps once everyone starts attacking, so it’s more for the achievements really unless in a massive guild. As a small guild of 4 we are loving the game but stay away from pvp as it’s way too hardcore for us in terms of gear. The dungeons and pve part of the game we love thankfully :D We had the eclipse issue on our server this week with junabote but they have already got bored of it and moved onto the tree boss with it now 💪 Great video though man, very well thought out and made 🎉
To be honest half of the 27 points you mentioned I didn't even experienced. I can cross gaps with abilities, Q block/roll is not an issue, etc... What I found very bad is the translation. Half of the skills and gear description are translated wrong and they do not do what they say... For example I was wearing accesory set thath should increase my crit dmg and after a week I discovered that it actually increase my crit hit chance. This is an huge issue while deciding what build and gear you wanna go for. And I am amazed no one say this in their reviews.
I would only argue about point 9, there are many elements that matter regarding that. If Im built for full melee evasion I expect to avoid getting stunned most of the times by melees with low hit chance.. it only makes sense. You play the most OP class in the game btw. Where have you seen a tank deal such a burst? :p
As a tank, the dashing backwards thing really hit home for me. I hope they improve that. Sometimes, I'll dash away from the fight leaving my DPS guys exposed and that sucks ass XD
I remember someone saying that morphs were useless but for those who don’t know you can use them to avoid non aggro when moving thru populated mob areas if you have the morphs from that area
I understand what you’re saying, but everything you said is inaccurate. First of all morphing doesn’t let you avoid aggro. And you don’t need to avoid non-aggro as they won’t attack you. However, Shapeshifting into the correct form for an area will turn all the aggro into non-Agro. Yes though the concept you proposed is very useful this year like just trying to go out into the crowd and grab that one thing you need and you don’t wanna fight your way all the way there or say your gathering I was gathering mushrooms yesterday and I shaped shifted into oruntil I found a mushroom and then you have to shift back the mushroom and shave shift back into work and move onto the next one
You can check if any of these things you don't like are fixed by playing the KR version of the game. Spoiler alert: they aren't. If the devs do decide to fix anything based on your review (unlikely), it will be months before you see those improvements in the global version of the game.
My immediate and largest complaint is the targeting system. Why on earth do I have to hold control, left click on the enemy, and then press E to start attacking? Literally three separate buttons to just attack... That's some reeree shit.
Agree with all your points. Especially small scale PVP above just arena. As PVE is currently lacking, the only end game really is PVP. The game really isn't balanced around small scale pvp, so arena can be frustrating, even if one has good gear, good traits, good teammates, etc. Now given its balanced around large scale, for most, its not possible to regularly plan around or show up for these massive fights. If anyone remembers, just planning 40 people for molten core in classic was such a hassle and that was PVE (you know what you're getting into). Now compared to T&L, you need 70 x 4 (or more) to show up and be online at specific times, and you still don't really know how things are going to go, you could just end up facing uneven numbers and its a bust, its uncertain. I just don't see a scenario where majority get to participate in something that needs actively people in the hundreds to be online at the same time to even get a CHANCE at having fair playing field - excluding gear and whales and all that (+ personal rewards chances are really low). They really do need to build some in between bridge, which I guess the BG's they're working on might solve, t there needs to be some balance around this scale of PVP too, not every fight can be 400v400 and I don't think balancing around that is good long term. Just creating more agency for players to partake in smaller scales.
i've got 120hrs into TL, 2 toons on different servers and recently abandoned it for Once Human's Winter scenario... i have 6 toons & 3 accts and over 400hrs into OH. I'm looking at Towers of Aghasba for November, it's not an mmo but looks like something that combines a plethora of different concepts and puts them together as something new. TL's combat issues as you've laid out made it really difficult for me to love TL.

After investing 250 hours and building a 3400+ CP Invocator and a 2600+ CP Scorpion character, my motivation to play has completely drained - just like my points in the game. The game feels extremely limited. Daily content can be completed in just 1-2 hours, leaving me without anything more to do. Unfortunately, I don’t see a future for this game. Stability isn’t an issue, and it handles zerg PvP and teleportation excellently. (Perhaps due to a patch or adjustments to server performance?) I miss a game with a much larger world, an economy like in New World (where I’ve put in 4,000 hours), and diverse build possibilities. Maybe I expected too much, at least something close to Lineage 2, which I played for years on both L2J and official servers. Here, there’s simply no variety! This game feels very barren.
Want to fix casting backward or movement skills going backward? Until a fix is released, I recommend moving your camera to be over the shoulder instead of dead center
