I've played this quite a bit, yet I didn't know about grabbing troops by using their building 😲

the flale units are insane

Seems like income is really important! And those gold mines seem really important on this map in particular as they instantly pay themselves off (5 gold to build and 10 income on their first night far as I understand)!

Glad you're still enjoying this game. Most of this sucks because the game just doesn't mention some key features. Here's some more advanced tips: 1) There's a button (not sure what the keyboard key is) that will show you every building that you can build at that time. Once you get Castle level 3 and it opens up all the rest of the building locations all across the map, you can use this key to find the building you want to build. 2) For Towers and soldier buildings only: Just because you put the gold into a building, doesn't mean you're forced to chose a building option. When you're in the selection screen, you can hit cancel and get your money back. You can use this to peek to remember what the soldiers do. Once you chose an option though, it's locked in. 3a) Tower upgrades stack, kinda. You might have figured this out already but it's weird the game doesn't mention it. So if you choose the sniper tower first, whatever you choose second still has the sniper range, high damage, and slow attack speed (Sniper + Ballistic is good). However, the bunker tower (short range + attack speed increases with each shot), combined with the Archer Spire (tower that gives an +1 shot) are independent. The extra shot from the second upgrade will not increase the bunker tower's attack speed (as far as I can tell). It's just an extra shot that shoots at the normal speed. I'm still testing stuff out myself and it's hard to remember which tower has which upgrade in the middle of battle. 3b) What "fire spire" does is use the same arrows from the level 2 upgrade, change them to be splash damage, AND it adds a very short range AOE attack when it gets damaged. The AOE automatically attacks every 10ish seconds. It works well with shield and bunker towers. Now you almost need to plan ahead of time (starting on day 3-4) where you could use this combination to use it to its full potential. There's no way to re-spec a tower (as far as I know). 4) Exploders explode when they die, when they get to a building, and when they meet a soldier unit (I think). So you can bait them into blowing up on a single unit. This used to work during older patches, not sure if it changed. What for sure works on Exploders is the shield tower. If there's a large wave of Exploders coming, the first one will hit the tower (it'tower will survive) and all the rest will explode on the shield with no effect. 5) You can grind for levels but none of the perks are seriously Overpowered (a few are but you get them soon). 3 perks is all you get eventually. What to most look forward to are the unit and tower unlocks. Once you have those you have 70% of what you need for the rest of the game. 6) North-West of the map you just beat are the challenge maps that will force you to beat the levels in a new way. I hope you play at least until the Lake level. The final wave is alot of fun there and there's a few surprises along the way.

Picked this game up since it was on sale after watching you. Greed is best, I try to beat each level with as little fighting power as possible. The more gold you get earlier the faster you snowball. Gold mines are great for getting it all started, but they decrease by 1 gold each day. I played a lot more greedily than you and it went a lot easier.

Imagine if you had to spend money to rebuild stuff that got destroyed...
