The key to nolan film making style is The Prestige, is the more personal to nolan and is clear that he build is movies as a 3 act magic trick, which is genius, love it.

Great tribute! Added to my favorites right afted I finished it. Glad you included Following. Most Nolan tributes leave that film out,most likely due to the fact most haven't seen it. It is on this site,for those wondering. Awesome tribute to a awesome filmmaker.Will be on the lookout for future videos from you.

Nolan's films are (a) smart, (b) but still deliver solid thrills and action, (c) while using very little CGI. Thus they are complex but never dull, and always feel grounded and realistic. Why can't other directors follow this formula?

@BatmanDCKnight No, I used different songs, but two of them are Hans Zimmer and from two of Nolan's films. Bank Robbery Prologue-Hans Zimmer (Dark Knight) The Poet Acts-Philip Glass Kettering-The Antlers Dream is Collapsing-Hans Zimmer (Inception) Evey Reborn-Dario Marianelli

@cr33pyGamer I'm not cutting him down at all, but not EVERYTHING he does is his own. Memento was adapted from his brother's story, Insomnia was an adaptation, as is the Batman films. Inception is his most creatively controlled film. And not EVERYTHING from the Man who falls is in Begins, but the basic story structure is just the same. As is the entire first act of the novel, the foundational themes of the film were layed out in the novel. So on that premise, it is entirely taken from that.

Lmfao @ Jackman 'That was the best magic trick I've ever seen' after the jokers little pencil stunt, haha Gotta love Nolan!, can't wait for the next batman, complete faith in him! Prestige gotta be my favourite, but they're all awesomely awesome. well, I didn't think THAT much to Insomnia, but that's by Nolans standards, if it wasn't directed by him I'd probably rate it as awesome. I'm aware he didn't write it however, or have full directing powers, maybe that's why!

@NkMcdonalds Nolan is not just telling a story, there are so many hidden meaning behind his films and lessons that it's amazing he isn't held in more god like standards. This man and the movies he makes, are what movies are all about. This is how movies should be. Make the viewer think. Make the viewer believe.
@_thomaswaldron
@_thomaswaldron 13 лет назад
@cr33pyGamer He took the ideas & story elements from Man Who Falls & Year One and formed them into Batman Begins. Whatever YOU think the film was about, came directly from both those comic series which DC supplied to Charles Roven (producer) for pre-production. Bear in mind, I originally replyied to a comment that said "he takes concepts like 'why do we fall' small defining moments in our lives and puts it on screen". Yes he did, by borrowing from the source material. Does this make him a god?
@NickKinder
@NickKinder 13 лет назад
@Royalsman13 Doodlebug did not fit with the fast paced stuff, I wanted to add since it's one of his first short films, but it just didn't work. And yeah, I liked the Joker ending too. :)

@cr33pyGamer Yes you do need to go into why he is an amazing director. I don't know shit about anything, PLEASE can you explain to me, I just want to know stuff about his films and I heard he was the modern genius of cinema because he put a dream in my dream whilst I dream and made the greatest film ever made. You clearly know more than me about this, this MASTER of the ARTS. Thing is, how does he do it!?

@BatmanDCKnight You do realise 'Why do we fall' comes from The Man Who Falls graphic novel, Batman Begins is in fact entirely taken from that novel. Where's your god now?
@BagsofRice
@BagsofRice 11 лет назад
That's strange because many of his films are hard to fit in three act structure.
@_thomaswaldron
@_thomaswaldron 13 лет назад
@cr33pyGamer But it is entirely taken from that, and Year One. Did I ruin the deluded experience of thinking Christopher Nolan is God-incarnate? Look, i'm actually a big fan of his films, but I am sick of the fanboy perception of 'In Nolan we trust', when all of his films have relied heavily on creative collaberation, i'm not sure some people understand what it is exactly he does in his films sometimes. Btw, have you read The Man Who Falls? You'd be surprised how much material is lifted from it.

The ignorant comments are sickening. Nolan is NOT a God. He's hardly anything special. His films are NOT deep or intellectually thought provoking. He's no where near as good as directors like Bergman, Kurosawa, Kubrick, Ford, Dreyer, Welles, Tati, Scorsese, Lynch, Clouzot, Fellini etc. Bergman wipes the floor with Nolan in regards to intelligent cinema. If Nolan is your favorite, fine, but don't go around saying he's some sort of true visonary.
