If noone ever fought back we wouldn't have rules and everyone could just do whatever he wants to do because it wouldn't be wrong. Humans don't know what is right or wrong, we just know what other people like, or dislike and that gives us a rough feeling about "doing the right thing" but if noone tells you that they dislike your opinion etc. you just keep going, ending up as a complete dushbag just like everybody else because you'll never realize what you've done wrong. I honestly think that would be much worse than some flame wars in the comment section.
Chris1J1Marx In my experience the opposite is true. When people fight online there is very little amount of context given to people's opinions so maybe saying "fight back" is wrong. When people "fight back" online it's mostly people shouting at each other instead of trying to convince another person of what their fighting for and why they're fighting for it. Meanwhile in real life "fighting back" means more having a large conversation, telling your side of the story, understanding the other side, and then convincing that way. Most of the comments I see here are just insulting back resulting is basically two sides bullying each other rather than anyone "fighting back" against each other. I understand more what you mean though now.

Me with stepmania is just reading what I see on the screen, if I've played a song before I may know what the pattern feels like but I don't memorize any of it.
