Want to agree with you but I think he's also just being smart not walking in the house where he might possibly get trapped. Not saying this guy is that type person to do that to his deer friend but from the deer's perspective he's got to be smart about entering a human's terf.
Our last rescue deer would come in the house, lay down on the couch, watch TV and eat dinner with us for the first 3 yrs of his life and then he had to go and be a real deer and not a deer-dog! I sure miss Little Buck!
I feel bad for the deer like Little Buck that make the mistake of thinking they're safe in the company of humans. I know we have an overabundance in the deer population but there must be a better way of dealing with it.

This never ceases to amaze me. Deer are so skiddish & fearfull. They usually won't go near humans. But you've got these deer 🦌 trained. There's a level of trust and they know they will get treats. 💯 thx for sharing.
The deer around me aren't too scared of people, i encounter them frequently while hiking and they'll often times not even move unless they are directly in my path. There was one time me and the dog were walking and almost ran into a pair while coming around a sharp bend in the path. Like physically almost smacked together, lol
I can't decide if the most amazing part of this video is the deer sweet friend visiting, or the fact that you open your front door to see THAT VIEW. EVERYDAY. I'm quite envious either way!! What a beautiful location!! I want to feed deer from my giant mountain top castle too 😩
It is nice to have a small deer named buddy that you can feed apples out of your hand. I was not expecting someone to call a deer to his door. That is awesome.

I saw that in his character while we were first together, and that was PART of the reason I fell in love with him. Yes but now that deer is not afraid of people and most people want to hunt deer I did it one time when I was 15 at the right of passage I'm a hillbilly but I never did it again because when I come up on it and I saw it laying there the whole went inside making some god-awful screaming noise I did I knew I did something really bad really wrong and I never did it again I've never hunted any other animal ever since then

That may be true but when they do that the majority of hunters are proper sportsman and won't take advantage of those deer and will go after a different one
Not true. Hunters aren't just "hanging around the woods." Hunters are in a blind, or in a tree stand where the deer never see them unless they move. Even deer in an area where they are used to seeing humans will get spooked when they are in their environment (the woods.) These deer are choosing to come into his environment and accept the risk. They probably wouldn't do that if they saw him in the woods, even if he has food, because in the woods he would be seen as an intruder.
