I have several hundred videos available on RU-vid now and each week I'm going to repost a classic video that I think would be very valuable for you to see again or to see for the first time in case you missed it.
TBT video this week gives you some valuable tips on what to do to break in your glove and what not to do including the typical GOAT cringeworthy antics.
As long as parents are doing the breaking in of the glove I would suggest boiling water works the best using the methods shown in the video.

This was the first video we found from you. The Warrior guy told me I ruined the glove wetting it, which we know is BS.

It is funny how little critical thinking there is today. 1) there is zero real leather in any modern glove and it is all synthetic. 2) everyone who plays real hockey knows your glove is fully soaked with perspiration by the end of the game so…. Yes….. fully wet. 3) modern gloves are impervious to moisture and heating up the plastics and internals is no different than when the skates are baked at a shop. So, I think you are wise to listen to an NHL pro instead of sports store “expert” or some rando internet “expert”.

What about baking it in the oven at a low temperature for a while? I bought my glove from a goalie specific training shop and that's what they told me to do. Just curious if the oven might be a bad idea/too hot for the glove when compared to hot water?

There is zero chance to wreck your glove with water. If you are even slightly off in an oven you WILL melt plastic internals.
