For years I've been using a bender when working on copper. I hate using pre-made fittings since the extra joints can be a liability. I have a super simple method to bend copper demonstrated in the video. Get rid of those fittings rattling around in your truck today!

Yeah metal shoes would be nice. Get the reverse attachment too! I almost use it more than just the bender itself. It flips everything so the handle is on the outside of the bend. I really try to use the bender instead of fittings. Lots of practice getting one peice line sets snaked through some interesting chases.

Those reverse attachments are sick! I've never owned one but I've used others. Exactly what I mean, keeping one solid pipe throughout the run is the way to go.

Milwaukee / Ridgid should make an electric one

OK...serious question: what type of copper are you using in the video? The piece looks too straight to be soft copper. I have a similar same cheapy bender that I used last year to bend a whole bunch of 3/4" copper for hydronic use. I didn't want hard 90 elbows so I made nice sweeping bend. However, I found I had to anneal the area first so the copper didn't wrinkle on the inside of the bend. It didn't kink, it just wrinkled a little bit. Great video btw!

I assume hes using 7/8" ACR rigid copper tubing. I'm in the same boat of wanting to use bends in my plumbing work but it seems that all rigid copper pipe sold here in the states is hard tempered and will not bend properly without annealing.
