Legendary Hyuna! The low-tone rapper you like is Hyuna. She originally debuted with Wonder Girls in 2007 at the age of 14 and then left after their first song, before joining 4Minute. She is still friends with Sunmi of Wonder Girls (also a soloist now). She is known as one of the few artists who have debuted more than 5 times - Wonder Girls, 4Minute, Solo, 4Tomorrow, Troublemaker, Dazzling Red, Triple H, Hyuna/Dawn

JIHYUN and HYUNA Came over from the WONDER GIRLS

She's not getting as much attention these days as she used to. But Hyuna was the female superstar in kpop. Bet many's entry into kpop in 2nd gen came from seeing her with PSY in Gangnam Style. Both her and CL from those days are iconic legends.

4Minute was my fave girl group ever my bias being Jiyoon (she was the lead singer, lead rapper and lead dancer of the group) after the disbandment she started out as a soloist under the name Jenyer you should definitely check out her song I Do, Magnet and Bad and let's not forget 2Yoon reunion in Soop

4minute has some great songs. And in my opinion their best song are, Volume up, Crazy and Hate. Hope those are in your #2 list.

Yeah it's definitely a cube rapper style which is mostly thanks to LE (from EXID) who were Hyunas teacher. When hearing LE you can really hear the similarity. LE is mostly producing for other groups now and she co produced T-ARAs "sugar free" and it's actually mostly her voice you hear in the rap in that rap as well. Cube... is a mess, to say the least. I miss 4minutes, well Hyunas at least solo stuff is fire and ppl should probs warn you... a little lmao My recommendations for 4minutes beside is probably “Heart to Heart”, "What's Your Name" and “Whatcha Doin' Today”, for a more light hearted and fun songs/mvs. And while I'm at it I will recommend EXID too. IDK if they should go in your throwback list or not since they're technically not disbanded and did release an anniversary song last year which was 100% their old style. If you ever do a dive into their discography I'd recommend "I feel good" (not their debut but there were some line up changes before), "up and down" (the one that put them on the map and saved them from disbandment), "Night Rather Than Day" (a bit more chill) and "fire" (the anniversary comeback so good). One of their vocalist is now a vocal teacher at a university and LE who co-wrote and produced most of their songs is mostly producing for other groups now. And if i can throw in a 5:th one I’d say “i love you” or “DDD”. Tbh i think ppl ‘d be upset I left out “L.I.E.” , “pink hot” and “ah yeah”, but I tried picking the ones that best represented their discography as a whole (and i still left out "Every night" :/). I don’t understand why EXID fans don’t brag more about LE, b/c she really raps so good and her songwriting is impeccable (I’m just one step above a casual listener, not die hard fan lmao).

4minute! Been waiting for this! One of my favorite 2nd gen groups. Orange hair rapper in HuH is Hyuna. And there are technically 3 rappers in the group, the other 2 are lead rappers, and hyuna is the main rapper. All of them are incredible vocalists. And in "mirror mirror", it just sounded that yeah at the beginning 😂😂, its actually "4 minutes left"

Jiyoon is just really good at everything (the rapper you pointed out in Mirror Mirror, she's my bias😊) and justice for leader Jihyun because she never gets enough lines 😭 21:16 it may not look like much nowadays, but this dance move was super controversial at the time. They had to change it for live performances I knew you'd love 4minute, thats why I voted for them! Also, they were the second kpop group I ever stanned after finding 2NE1, so they helped drag me into this mess of a fandom 13 years ago 😂 The rap style comes from EXID's LE. She mentored Hyuna and created a ripple effect. Definitely check out EXID someday because they are suuuuper talented, funny and dangerous 😂 The specific that I'd like you to check out is the subunit 2yoon's release '24/7'. Ohh! I'm so excited for this series! I discovered kpop because I found Hyuna's solo debut change about a week or so after it was released. I got to meet her in 2017 during her tour and I am still in awe that I got that chance. In January I will officially have been a kpop fan for 14 years.

KARA and 4Minute were the two groups that got me into K-Pop back in the day. After the disbandment of KARA and the death of Hara, I took a break from K-Pop for many years until (G)I-DLE and Dreamcatcher pulled me back in. I'm glad you're getting to see what made 2nd gen so special back then!

i feel like this is super basic of me but solo hyuna was what had me into kpop, and for years the only kpop i cared about was her and 4m (and orange caramel), so this is fun for me~ if you wanna keep getting disappointed in cubent for a long time im hoping you have a chance when you get to boy groups too~ i think btob are the most "unscathed" of their groups, but i'm a pentagon ult and have been for a long while so you can imagine how i feel -_- anyway ♡ the first "who is she" is kim hyuna~ oh how i was obsessed with her when i was 14. (assuming when you get to wondergirls you'll skip irony) she debuted in wg when she was 14 as the main rapper but she left for health reasons right after, and then debuted in 4m 2 years later, and as a solo 1 year later. i heard(correct me if im wrong) 4m was formed specifically bc they wanted hyuna in a group, and when they disbanded because everyone else didnt resign their contracts(literally why would they), she was the only one who stayed in the company(and look how they repay her) ~ the red head you point at later is hyuna again. ive never thought of her voice as "low" but maybe thats just me not understanding things or not being a native english speaker or something :p i think other than gayoon, all of them rap to some extent? hyuna and jiyoon are thee rappers tho i believe right now jihyun, gayoon and sohyun are mainly actresses? jiyoon(jenyer) and hyuna are soloists for sure the boys in the "whos next" bit of "huh" mv are beast(or b2st, now highlight). i dont know why im sharing this but gikwang has always been the handsomest 2nd gen boy to me. im not even attracted to men "four minutes left", by the way xd (i had to rewind to try to understand what was misheard, i never noticed that) oh i just realised somethings gonna be missing from part 2 and its gonna be such a shame. any of the songs missing is a shame(thought obviously do whatever you want and i completely understand and am familiar with your format, this is not a complaint), but assuming volume up, crazy and hate are shoe-ins, im picturing in my head my other girls(the other songs) fighting for the last spot. its already so sad and tragic(im exaggerating for fun) to miss out on s-s-s-sexy muzziiik and my bestie heart to heart(thought now that i think about it idk if thats a korean or japanese release i just listen to the kr version)

4M is the bad ass group! Theres no groups like them anymore. And cube destroy the best groups!. HyunA is and amazing rapper and damcer. If u pay attention a lot of rapper of this era have her as a mentor. Just listen of how they rap specialy rapper from CUBE.

❤❤❤Finally, you got round to the group that got me into K-Pop. All talented girls that were just pure magic. Amazingly at the time of these songs around 2009/2010, hardly anyone in Korea knew who they were. They made a reality series at the time and talked to the public. Their later material is different, but just as good. Looking forward to the next one. The name of the group was based on their songs being less than 4 minutes in length. Actually, one song is slightly longer, but not hy much.
