4Minute members had a complicated relationship after their disbandment but it's been brought up again recently. Instagram: bit.ly/3NWCjW1 Twitter: bit.ly/3NyjmJS Facebook: bit.ly/3OhuslH #kpop #kpopnews #KOOKIELIT
Cube actually would hold off putting 4MINUTE’s and CLC’s albums up on iTunes. I started listening to 4MINUTE back in 2009 and I swear there were times that their albums wouldn’t go up on iTunes (this was before streaming) until like say weeks or even a month later. CLC from what I recall didn’t have it that bad, but with “Me” and “Devil”, those songs were never added in 2019 and came out a whole year later in 2020. Cube was sabotaging them so they could disband them.
@@adamsmoberly To be fair Cube was far from the only company to have their music uploaded super late in the pre-streaming days, so I wouldn't even be sure it was their fault. I mean there was hardly any k-pop in the U.S. store for a good while. But I remember somehow I figured out a way to switch the store location to Korea or Japan and boom it was all there lol. You'd still have to buy Korean iTunes cards off eBay to get the right credit though...
Cube actually promoted a duo from 4minute's member. But, it didn't sell well. They pushed hard to only hyuna, just because she made them more money. It's all about business after all
I miss 4 Minute, but the one I miss most is Gayoon. She was every reason why I fell in love with 4 Minute. Her voice always stood out the most to me. 😊❤️
I was surprised she didn't stay in the industry given her amazing voice. Her voice has such a strong and emotional feeling to it that she elevates any track she sings on. I feel like she was quite underappreciated during her time in 4Minute--even today she stands out to me as a strong vocalist. However, I guess it just wasn't something she wanted to continue to pursue. I'm glad that she appears to be happy and healthy though, and if she does ever decide to do music again it's nice to see that it seems there are a lot of people who will support her.❤
Jiyoon still is releasing music. Under the name Jenyer as a soloist, but more importantly as vocalist of the group PRSNT. They just dropped a new single this week called Chameleon.
at least jyp family is much better than any company's idol and ceo relationship. i have never seen jyp having another favoritsm after suzy's case and his idol groups are all like siblings. cube is shit. even if gidle is a group under cube, they could be a better company than them. soyeon clearly taught her girls up to be confident on their own so they shine together and will not get influenced by cube's mistreatment or favoritism
The thing is that I believe Jiyoon when she says they had a great relationship and never fought, it was visible in their group dynamic that they were always well aligned together... So I also understood why all the girls would be mad/shocked by seeing Hyuna signing with Cube. If they had remained together, they could still be 4minute under another agency... But since Hyuna decided to stay at Cube while the others were dismissed, she instantly killed the chances of the group to exist somewhere else, thus defining the rest of the career of her band members and making them feel betrayed (since they were a "family"). And all that for her to be expelled from Cube a couple years after anyways... Also, not surprise Jenyer is still at it. Girl was born to make music (too bad k-pop is not necessarily about music or musicianship).
Back then it was pretty much impossible to keep your name and leave together to form your own agency or sign as an entire group. Even now the only group to fully sign together is iKON. Shinwha got permission from SM himself and Eric had to pay the fines for two members I think. Again, other than IKON, I've never heard of a group leaving unscathed by their last company. Usually they get blacklisted as a group and the company refused to let them use their name or their songs. B.i. left the songs and everything under the name iKON which is why the group owns the rights.
@@RealJudyi That's only partially true. Kara had done it in 2014 against DSP. Beast (who belonged to Cube, by the way) did it at the exact same time 4minute disbanded. T-ara has done it a few years later... With Hyuna, one of the most recognizable k-pop acts of the 2nd generation, they would most likely find a new home. I'm not saying it's easy, and not all groups can pull it off (specially if they're not popular enough) but it's definitely possible and 4minute had all the right cards to play it.
Gurl im sorry but part of your retelling of this story is wrong. I am a kpop fan since 2010. I clearly remember before the I HATE U era. They had little to no comeback for years. Cube had given up on them. During the I HATE U era. The members was begging for more support telling thier fans if there is no support for the album this will be there last. At the time you have to remember even if kpop artist was popular internationally our sales and hype was not counted in Korea by the companies. They only cared about the Korean kpop fans. And no thier popularity dwindled from the little to no comebacks. Even if the songs did well at the time it was overshadowed by whoever was out at the time doing bigger numbers then them.
True i also remember that... There has also never been any drama within 4minute.... This video is completely BS and just takes advantage of the Hyuna backlash for clicks... But in the end with this video, that is based on rumours and gossip, they cause damage to the members that were part of 4minute.
Wasn’t there a controversy at the time surrounding Hyuna and weed? I found out about them during Hate and was baffled they were disbanding shortly after, and I remember people explaining the Korean public was kinda strict about rumors like that
Not given up but more like dyring the crazy era concert there was one of the worst accidents where a lot of fans lost their lives so 4 min were trying to stay low
and there is one thing that Jihyun said back in 2018 or 2019ish. she said "at the time that 4minute disbaned they wer both upset and there were complicts and they all acted like children. But now if u look back i feel like i understand Hyuna and her desicions. We will never be young again and there are some chances that won't comeback in one's life time. " it was one of these journal interviews.
GaYoon actually had one of the best voices.. she is so stunning and was born to be infront of the camera. Im goad she is living a good life now days though. 4minute are forever on my playlist.
Am I the only one who would have supported 4M as a Quartet if the 4 girls had left and re-formed without Hyuna-? I know they probably would have struggled to get the names and stuff, but it could have been possible.
I met 4minute in person when they performed in a music program. Everyone run to Hyuna when its time for the fan interaction. I went to greet Jihyun and Gayoon and they are like so surprised someone really went for them. I think they expected everyone to go after Hyuna. I was able to converse for like 3 mins with them since I'm the only one who go after them. Broken english but its okay, they try their best to interact with me.
I was a 4nia (since their debut). Literally, the disbandment hurt me and my biases were 2Yoon. However, it really seemed fishy on the company's side how the disbanding played out. I still hope to see 4minute gets a reunion song like other 2nd gen groups. However, Hyuna has disappointed me and I cannot condone her recent actions.
I have some inside info on Cube Entertainment: Cube was self sabotaging 4MINUTE. Now I don’t know how easy it is to push music onto iTunes and other sites (this was before streaming was big), but I’ve listened to 4MINUTE since late 2009 and many of their comebacks weren’t put up on iTunes for a while after the songs came out. Like say a song came out June 3rd, it’d be like June 13th when their album would go up on iTunes. And while it was hard for smaller companies to put albums up on there, I swear other smaller companies groups’ albums were on there about the same day as release. Not only that, CLC in 2019 had “Me” and “Devil” come out the same year as “No” (which did come out the same time it was released, yet these other two songs were never added to iTunes until 2020, a whole year after they came out and this wasn’t a time when Cube had issues, especially since (G)I-DLE had all their music put on there day one. And seeing how CLC disbanded just as shady, it’s obvious Cube was forcing them and 4MINUTE out of the company.
Hyuna was probably a different person back then though, whatever type of a bandmate/member she was, doesn't really affect her decisions rn. 4minute was almost 15 years ago, and over the past few years, we saw her mental health fluctuate. Nothing excuses her bad choice of a boyfriend.
and? doesn't means anything in the mess he was involved in and what he apologised for, he is CANCELLED and she now went down to hell with him LOL@@Marilyn2401
Jihyun is the prettiest but never pushed as visual. Jiyoon is another all rounder. Never properly pushed, too. Sohyun is just a maknae. Gayoon is just a main vocalist. Poor the other 4. CUBE is always sucks
Let's be honest that Cube Ent is only alive due to Gidle. And soon all members are going to leave the company and are going to join their own established company (hope this happens). Cause I want to see the Cubes downfall cause what they done with their groups is not favourable. This company needs to get karma for real.
Son personas estúpidas que mezclan las cosas como siempre en un escándalo se van a ir encontrando la más famosa ,no veo un ataque contra el🤔. Además tu no eres fan de hyuna por lo que no conoces de ella ni un carajo.🤫
@mdanabautistaramos9279 So you are saying that just because you're Hyuna's fan, you know her well? Don't mix things. Both fans and haters are just netizens who don't know a shit about her real character since both only see what's happening in front of the camera. Hyuna may be a terrible person or not, we will never know. It's useless to keep discussing this things
i think blaming Hyuna is a bit far fetched. Cube at the moment of disbandment went through several CEO changes with IHQ. There's also a rumor about IHQ calling 4minute talentless. This situation is purely to blame on IHQ as they didn't see a need for 4 minute then after cube dropped the ball CLC when the comeback after hobgoblin didn't do well enough for cube. Super lady by (g)-idle is out of (g)-idles pocket just like how CLC had to do their comebacks out of their own pocked after cube dropped them in the dark. IHQ is the reason cube acts like it does today. People always hate cube blaming the company but they should really be looking and blaming IHQ instead.
Ya, I don't think she should be blamed for the disbandment. But I do think judgements against her for how she personally handled everything after the disbandment (allegedly) are valid.
@@user-ms1rt7li3j well shes dating junhyung, a former beast and highlight member whos been involved in the burning sun scandal. he admitted to be watching illegal videos of women taken by many other 2nd gen idols and never reported it to the police. hyuna lost more than 100k followers after this
Hyuna and Cube deserves to get karma for their actions. Like Hyuna for dating scandal and for destroying dawn's carrier. And Cube for destroying the carriers of Pentagon, CLC, 4 minute and for over working Gidle.
I do know what you mean and kinda agree, but dawn was still an adult who agreed to stay with her, we dont know everything but even if i dont get good vibes from hyuna i wouldnt only blame her for ruining dawn career
I'm upset about her recent scandal, but I don't blame her for dawns career. He's a grown adult, he wanted to date her and he did, before he even debuted. She wasn't the one who told people, and it was cube that threw them both out.
Jiyoon was the best rapper, and jihyun was the prettiest at that time. Idk how or why hyuna became so popular to be honest, just the luck of the song release I guess
Yes, and her oversexualize image. I mean her entire career is base on her looks, she cant rap, cant sing and her dance honestly below average. Jiyoon alone is more talent
As a 4nia, Hyuna was the type of member who has that charisma that draws you into the group. Her most notable characteristic is her eyes and the way she looks at the camera feels like she is seducing those who watch their performances. Till this day I still fall for her charms(I'm a girl btw)
The most obvious reasons are that: 1. She was famous already for being a member of the Wonder Girls 2. She was the easiest to manipulate into being sexy
Cube being Cube, I wouldn't be surprise if we learn that they put them against each other and to compete even when they were a group. But I hope they all do good and have happiness, 4minute was insane!!
Unfortunately, with Hyuna's recent fallout in the industry after revealed to be dating Junhyung, it's very unlikely for them to come back as five. I've always hoped for a group comeback, even if it takes them years but chances are fairly low with their busy schedules and whatever happened to Hyuna messing up her own career. Also, the girls pretty much aligned very well. I wouldn't be shocked if they felt betrayed about Hyuna renewing her contract with Cube since they were like a group of besties going through the future together while doing their own stuff. And as successful as they were overseas, one of the not so known but crucial reasons why they disbanded is because Act.7, their last album, didn't sell well domestically. They may have become international beasts, but they weren't doing well in their own country which is a crucial point for most companies.
I discovered 4Minute in 2023 and they are one of my top 4 favorites. Their early works not so much but they matured and evolved into a wonderful group. Sadly the group illustrates the saying that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. No one singer had great vocal skills but the group did.
That's why people are starting to call HyunA a former Wonder Girls member rather than being a member of 4MINUTE cause she's closer to almost all Wonder Girls members.
Wasn't the group initially created just to get hyuna to sign with the agency in the first place? They even called it the hyuna project until it was all set up. I feel really bad for the other members, they were always an afterthought, but I don't think all the blame should be put on hyuna for that. Plus we often forget that the companies have a LOT of control over their contactees, and when the group disbanded, it was the norm for companies to have full control over a stars social media and a lot of the time didn't even allow them to use their own phones without supervision, so things like unfolding each other online might not even have been them. In the end, it's all speculation, and we'll probably never know the full truth about what happened, but I know hyuna has been the Internets punching bag for a very long time
Ill be honest i never liked hyuna and forgot about her after a while but when she started dating dawn she grew on me now it’s back to the beginning of not liking her i lost respect
What is funny about this situation, I’ve said it many of times, a lot of these Stan’s believe these idols are perfect: perfect skin, no plastic surgery, friendly, no dating, love their label and band mates, and so on. SNSD, AOA, and EXO shown us, no matter how successful and popular their group is, the members may not like each other. There’s way more that goes behind the scenes. After her last idol she dated, Hyuna has shown her true color. Remember the ex idol didn’t want to take his shirt off and she was trying to force him to do it. This as leave to some wondering if she really cared about others or was in it for herself. Money doesn’t change people, it just shows your true color.
I loved 4Minute....never once did I think of it as Hyuna's group or Hyuna and the others. This was a solid solid group with some great songs. Kpop companies are insane.
Have and always will be a Hyuna fan 💗 I loved 4minute as well but let’s be real, Hyuna has the “IT” factor and charisma that the other girls simply don’t have. She’s not the greatest singer in the group but she has the star power and Cube knew that. She was the only person in the group that had the longest potential to survive and be profitable in the industry. It’s sad, but it’s giving Nicole Scherzinger with the Pussycat Dolls.
Funny how you mention Nicole because wouldn’t you know it that she and Hyuna would share the same kind of personality and possessiveness about sharing the spotlight? It’s most interesting how the star quality fades when you peel back the layers to see what their humanity amounts to.
I'm not the least bit surprised. Groups that don't get along, aren't cohesive, and don't have teamwork that flows well together will ultimately fail in this industry. Companies should be evaulating their trainees and how they work/communicate with each other before debuting a group. The mistreatment and bias/favoritism should also stop as well! That kinda stuff only contributes to toxicity 💩☠️
been a 4nia since around 2012-2013, blaming hyuna for this really is not it. if the girls themselves are always reassuring ppl how there's no bad blood between them, why create unnecessary rumors like this? if you've been observing the industry for long enough you know how shitty cube is as a company. the way they screwed over 4minute when they were on their way to success, same thing happened with CLC, even now u see gidle often criticizing cube. cube is just a shitty lazy company that doesn't want to invest in resources to make their groups successful but want all of the income they get from them if 4minute members say "we dont have beef" + all GGs under cube go through the same horrible management + the current main gg of cube constantly criticize their treatment = u dont really need to dig that deep to figure out the root of their failure guaranteed, i am deeply disappointed by the person hyuna is today, but hyuna now vs. hyuna from 10-15 years ago are two totally different people. don't try to benefit from her current scandals by creating rumors the "victims" themselves have debunked for years
Guys, this infornation is wrong. What happened was they didn't want to sign atleast one artist. It was never revealed which artists they did not want to sign so the other 4 said they would not renew their contracts which is very honorable. I was a very dedicated 4nia.
Went to see hyuna. Was super disappointing. She only played like 4/5 songs. Talked the rest of the 2hrs and you couldnt ask her about 4minute, wonder girls. Surgery. Or really anything but kindergarten type questions
I get what you mean, honestly. It's really sad when a certain member(s) get better treatment than other and than the rest are treated like extras. From what I've seen though, the IVE members seem close and I hope this doesn't affect them in the long run, they all really talented
I don't think so cause every member has their own personal matters like MCing variety and collabs except leesoo cause she is in school Gaeul - only member with a solo stage in the tour Wonyoung - MC in shows Yujin - has many busy schedules with going to variety and stuff Liz - collab with SM station and went on a show with rei Rei - she covers many songs in their channel, she is the only member with her own variety show and she also went on a show with Liz Leesoo- in school but she joins many covers and stuff And they all are even seen privately going to friends outing other especially the 04 lines and woneul(wonyoung and gaeul)
People grow up and move on. I doubt they really wanna spend time with hyuna given her recent scandal. They are moving on with their lives. You guys should too.
Other company I don’t think was very surprising. I feel like after Q debut their newest girl group, which was CLC and they decided to switch up their sound or they were going to switch the sound up to sound a little bit more like. 4minute they didn’t need anymore. They had to get rid of the only other group that they had at the moment so that they could make way for this new girl group to basically take over their sound. That’s why I think that they didn’t even try to promote them for their last album and it kind of makes sense sometimes. If they don’t know how to sit there and create a new sound or genre for a group, they will just recycle a concept they already did but in order to do that they have to get rid of the original group that did that. On top of that let’s be real they did not see the other four members as profitable as much as Hyuna like she was becoming more popular. Every day they were easily able to sell her sex appeal, but also her very unique cuteness at the same time she had that duality that people like, and honestly kind of felt like she was the type of person up until when she left the company who would just do whatever the bosses and people told her to do like it didn’t feel like she fought back very much and it probably was to do with how young she was when she became a idol under cube entertainment like a genuinely do feel like people forget that homegirl was only like 14 years old or something like that so it was probably so much easier for them to manipulate her and she just did whatever they said so it was easier for them to do stuff with her and her popularity definitely helped. But also, I feel like how hard it is when that is very prevalent to become friends with these people are working with. I don’t think that the girls hated each other but I don’t think they had a real friendship as much as I see people, friends and a great example Miss A. Fei Jia and Min years after I went down and gone on, they still would have been interactions with each other like all the time the two Chinese members consistently be working on the same shows in China like they genuinely are close with one another but I also feel like people that there was an age gap between them and Suzy. Plus, it didn’t help that the company decided to take their youngest member have her star in their first ever drama production. I feel dream high one and two were completely created by JP entertainment like that company created those dramas them out there and they chose to have her view like the main character and then once she got popular instead of them, sitting there and trying to even out that popularity by doing things with the other three members , they let her overpower them to the point where, even though this happened super early in their career, there were people who claim to be fans of this girl group and legitimately had no clue what the hell the name of the other 3 members was. And they have the same issue both groups where they would get deals for the main member the one that everyone knew but the companies weren’t trying to get the other members solo endeavors. They were trying to get them commercials. They weren’t trying to send them on variety shows they weren’t trying to get their names out there so that the group would have again. They were even popularity, rather than it seems like. Hyuna/ Suzy and Co so understandable that there was some form of like an animosity there, because I feel like people also forget how long these people have to training like most of them, giving up their teenage hood, sometimes even their childhood, because some of them get scall elementary school and they’re training for that long. They’re giving their young adult to sit there and debut to become an idol. They put in all this work just for their companies not to push them and then for them to become background characters in their own group. like people forget that these are humans at the end of the day not to mention some personalities just do not well like I can think of maybe two companies that have groups that genuinely get along with each other but then those are also companies that are rumored to have their own personal like psychics like tarot readers or readers shamans on their payroll that they genuinely sit there and go OK. These are our trainees which ones would work well together in a group and that’s why none of their groups seem to have discourse because they get someone who’s into like the spiritual realm of things to basically these people people their karma is good these people they would work out super freaking well based off of their birth charts, etc. and it’s funny because I’ve seen like social media people who do tarot and birth chart readings also point is out with like several groups from those two companies were like yeah you can’t tell me that these companies don’t sit there and go to people who practice this and then just throw these Specific people in groups together, and then it actually works. Not too much. I feel like people need to also just put themselves in the shoes other members that basically get left behind like you can be friends with this person but if they start getting like way more publicity and promoted than you are and then it also feels like they’re not trying to do anything to advocate for your group to like do more activities together or even just to get the individual members outside of themselves to like you know being pushed you would get a little jaded too. I feel like that’s something that actually ruins friendships in real life let alone friendships that are normally Created because of the fact that you guys train together or you’re thrown in a group together like those aren’t really strong I say the first place like honestly I feel like 90% of K-pop groups that are close together started off as friends because of trauma bonding because of how bad the training experience normally is so you guys are all going through something traumatic together, and then you bond together over that and then, of course, it can turn into an actual friendship and healthy relationship. I’ve had that happened to myself at witness that happened, but sometimes, strong with someone but then all of a sudden they seem better or better deal the shit and then yeah that’s not a relationship because you are no longer on even footing
They were never good friend to begin with. The lack of chemistry between the members was so obvious. Unlike groups like Apink, GG and Wonder girls. That's why they never got very popular despite having quite a few hit songs
I've been a kpopper since 2008 and was there from the beginning if these girls. One thing I can say is that Hyuna was the drive for this group and was heavily promoted as Suzy for Miss A. Hyuna was the most popular and continues throughout their career. I loved Hyuna during their early days especially when she was featured in Invincible Youth season 1. Today I don't follow her as much as u missed the innocent girl I fell in love with on that program. Hyuna changed completely with the growing popularity and promotion. Her members were always supportive from what I sae and waited for their turn. As all the other groups featured in that program. Each would have their respective members as guest to the show, which was a great experience and publicity stunt for the groups.
Well she still has a lot of followers on instagram so people still support her but when she releases more music there will definitely be a huge drop in her listeners
Followers do not equal sales and revenue. She might still have some fans but I highly doubt it will be enough to maintain her career as the majority of her loyal fans of many many years have left her fandom. Those are the vital fans that support your career buying concert tickets, albums, etc@@solarflame-he6cw
There all still friends and very very close. When sulli passed away victoria stopped her filming and flew straight back to Korea, amber postponed her album release by like a whole 3 or 4 months, Krystal was there everyday just staying by sullis side, Luna was gearing up for a theatre show but she stopped that and headed straight to the funeral and didn't even go back to the show. So I know for a fact that they all stayed close, sad cause FX would destroy this new gen sound the best.
It's been 8 years already and people still asking this question🤦♀️ and then at that its like every time Hyuna get into a scandal this same question comes up and kpop fans gotta know what the other former members think about it..its sad and pathetic to know people are really in they feelings about someone else life or relationships
