The symbolism of AI stepping over Lue is so poetic. The Sixers were up against a giant in the Lakers, and after hitting that step back, AI stepped over the only guy on the court shorter than him. He hadn’t just drawn first blood on the giant, he became the giant in that moment. He looked twice the size he really was in that moment.

Kobe and Iverson were cold-blooded Killers going at it every night. That's why they respected each other at the highest level. The difference between them was the help they got. Iverson gets a over-the-hill dikembe mutombo, and a bunch of role players... Kobe gets the most dominant big man and three-point assassin's backing him. It was never going to happen for the 76ers.

AI was one of the best players of all-time. Not saying he's top 10 or anything, which that can be argued. But look at Kobe when he didn't have a team around him after Shaq left.....he took most of the shots. Look at Jordan before Pip and Phil got there, he took most of the shots. AI NEVER had a team around him, so he had to take most of the shots. No one can name one star or superstar that AI played with during his prime that was on his team. And no, Denver wasn't when he was in his prime. It was from 2000-2006. And for everyone that says he was a ball hog, these are his CAREER stats. 26.7 ppg, *6.2 apg* , 3.7 reb, 2.2 stl.

Not really. Mutumbo was a defensive star, but WAAY past his prime we he was traded to philly. When I mention Superstar or Star, I and most others mean good or great on both ends of the floor. Or great in one area and good in another. Mutumbo averaged like 11ppg, 12reb and 2.5 blks while in Philly. He was defense only. Not as great as everyone wants to think, otherwise he would be in the Hall of Fame already.

Iverson is my favorite player so I am biased but people look at Iverson's career as a SG instead of a PG, which he played for most of his career it's really phenomenal. Compared to other SGs like Kobe: ppg: 26.7 vs Kobe's 25.4 asts: 6.2 vs Kobe's 4.8 FG%: 42% vs Kobe's 45% 3P%: 31% vs Kobe's 33% stls: 2.2 vs Kobe's 1.5

+Travis Adams Pound for Pound the greatest to ever play. And that is not meant as disrespect to any other players, Iverson was just out there every night doing things players could only dream of. I truly believe he was a leading force in one of the three waves that revolutionized the sport of basketball in its entirety.

That’s a conversation people don’t wanna have but I 100% agree for a few years 00-03ish AI at 6ft talk was the BEST player in that league with nothing but hofers and legends all around him let that sink in!

@meloferg 10 лет назад
Haha, it shows just how much Iverson did as a player himself. He outscores what some call the 'best player of all time' by 33 points, and they only by six. The rings argument will always be confusing to me - Iverson was better than every player not named Shaq in this series. He truly deserved it.
@RenzyTheGreat
@RenzyTheGreat 10 лет назад
Who the hell calls Kobe the G.O.A.T? He wasn't even the best player on 3 out of his 5 championship teams. But the rings argument is very stupid.
