Because Spain would shot at the last second and if the shot was in, there would be no time for Argentina. My question is why Nocioni took the last shot and didn't pass to Oberto for a dunk...
@@Koutalianos I assume that when you are 4 seconds away from finishing a game and you have an open shot to win the whole thing and make it to a World Cup final, it´s extremely difficult to have the full court vision, the cold blood and the absolute mental clarity to turn down the shot and make a risky entry pass to a teammate for him to make the final shot. If you watch closely it wasn´t like it was a super easy obvious pass and Oberto wasn´t totally open to the basket either, so it could have been a contested shot as well. For me Manu made a correct decision kicking the ball to the corner and Nocioni also made a correct decision shooting. Just happens that it didn´t go in. No more, no less.
@@Koutalianos What dunk are you talking about??? The position of Oberto was cover by Jimenez, wasn't free for a dunk. That play was planned: penetration and bucket from Manu or a three-pointer from other player. Nocioni had a clean shoot and missed. The question is why Manu gave the ball to Nocioni, who haded 2 of 6 from the three line instead of Sanchez who putted 2 of their 3 shoots from long distance. And by seeing the move of Ginobili, Nocioni was the best option.
@@Koutalianos that doesn't make sense either. if argentina made a successful denfense, they can go to over time unless coach and entire team all believe they are so tired and cannot win in over time either. Then make a foul would only make sense

nocioni played a awful and awful game. Why does the argentian coach still put him on the court and how many shots have he missed before the last shot ? Why foul and then make 3 points shot( worst case you let spain score and you took the 3-points shot) Coach is definitely responsible for this loss
True. Argentina really has problems playing spain for years now and they don't matchup very well with them and so is greece and i think that spain has a 32 game winning streak against them and the last time they beat them is i think in the FIBA WC in 2010.
if fiba game is harder to score [and the nba focuses on scoring], and if defense wins rings, then who wins on a game of these? although not exactly, cus that has not been the case, but the nba is not catching up, silver gotta have a reunion and revise and install some new better if not tougher rules for league play
