amazing how heads up Frans decision was to not reveal fling in G2 vs me w/stasis was. If I get a glimpse of that, g3 tog never resolves and a million decisions are different. I was def leaning heavy on the just chain it plan! Awesome games as always my friend!
Fire/Ice is great vs decks like Goblins or Elves, and it kills opposing Meddling Mages (which I luckily didn't face many of). It also allowed me to tap my opponent out of Counterspell mana, which was relevant. I think Fire/Ice is a spectacular card, and it's particularly good in DN decks to tap and attack your 12/12 past your opponent's.
Hey, that's amazing! Congratulations, and I love to hear that I inspired you! Will definitely check out the list, I think they got posted earlier today!
Cool video, as aways! But I really think this is just a worst gro-a-tog deck. The cards that did the heavy lifting are the same for both decks, meddling mage, gush and armageddon, but adding dreadnought + stifle and vision charm and thus cutting cantrips and daze/plow main deck, just makes the deck worst in my opinion 🙂
It's certainly less consistent. On the other hand, having access to the DN combo gives you game against Burn, which is a horrendous matchup for GAT. So you get some pros and cons, and it's very possible that it's overall worse than regular GAT and regular UW Argenought.
The Rock, Goblins, Landstill, UW Dreadnought, Replenish, Elves, BW Control, Madness, Devourer, FEB, Angry Hermit, are the ones I could think of in 10 seconds, and I imagine there are many more. Actually not that many decks run Diamonds in the format cause not many decks can actually afford to do so.
I agree. I feel like it has a much higher ceiling than regular Dreadnought decks and Gro-a-Tog decks, but it has the problem of having too many disjointed pieces that only work in combination with one another, and in order to make room for them what needed to be cut were cantrips. It really delivers on the "excitement" category, though!
It's not my deck, it's an innovation by Carlos Orellana. I think it has legs, though it can be a bit clunky. It's possible Sylvan Library (which Carlos was playing) can help there, though I'm skeptical of the low amount of G sources.
