I had never thrown a cast net until now. I've watched about every video on RU-vid but your video is the best and simplest method I have found. In about 2 minutes I could throw consistently good spreads. Thanks for the instructions, Dr. Catfish Dave!
I have been throwing a net for years but your way is so much easier than anything I have tried thank you so much for sharing it with us. And good luck catching the big ones
Thank you Dave for taking the time to show the different cast net methods this will help me out a lot. I have tried to get my wife to move to Tennessee I love it there and I love the mountains it feels like home to me...
I've struggled for years trying to throw a net . I'm going to try like you showed on the 5 foot one. Thanks for the advice and helpful tips Catfish Dave. God bless and Fish On .
Thanks Dave!! I really haven't figured much cast net yet. I have only had it for a month. And it has been in my vehicle for twenty eight days. After watching your simplified version I will try again tomorrow.
Just found you on here a CPL weeks ago . Man I've learned a lot from you. I had a 8 ft net here I was thinking about cutting the lead off until I watched you. Thanks Dave
good stuff there catfish, i enjoy your content. thanx for your time and effort. appreciate you explaining your lures and hooks etc. on your fishing vids.
Good information from a expert fisherman thank you catfish Dave I need to get me a net and start catching my own bait fish loving info thanks for the video
That’s the best explanation of how to throw a cast net that I’ve seen thanks I just learned something new again you’re the man. And it could be worse that dog could be trying to crap on your boots
I just watch guys at the city lake I was laughing to myself they need some help with there five footers bad didn't see one good throw surprised they did get some bluegill mostly alot of tangles lol
I happen to have the exact same 8 foot, and I am using the same technique, but i can never open it more than 75%. I think its something with the way I spin it, and maybe release too early. Gota practice this spring.
Well I did that and it helps, but I just can't cast right. Btw, I met your buddy Panfish yesterday, the vid is on my channel. I asked him about you, looks like he tried to bring you. You should come next year. It's good networking.
Dang Dave. You did that like you've done it before. My five foot net just won't lie flat. Perfect circle, just sticks up a foot to eighteen inches in the middle. I call it My Hoover net cause it sux. Sheesh. Maybe it's just to stiff. Either that or trash. Has good reviews.
There is a legal problem in Utah for the use of a "casting net" that you have to be very careful not to violate. You can only use the net to catch Non-game fish (mostly common carp), and, only in certain bodies of water. The maximum diameter is 5 feet. I have sent for mine, and then I plan on giving the laws a challenge. I want to use Carp for Catfish Bait! You cannot use live bait for Angling! The Utah Carpman
I can do many things, I have always been coordinated, but throwing a casting net and remembering how to tie more than about 5 types of knots are not my strong points.
It took me a little ng time to get it. I would try and give up for awhile. Finally made my mind up I was gonna do it and just kept watching videos and trying and finally got it.
@@catfishdave8192 I love your videos, especially those with those darned fish in the striped suits! I'd give my left nut to get in a school of them, plus I think they are the best tasting fish around. Love your boat too. Always wondered what kind of speed you can get out of it. I have 2 cast nets so I am going to watch this video over and over until I get it. I have an 8ft and a 4ft. Hope you have great fishing this Fall and take care on the lake. Gonna have to get you a good pellet gun on the boat to love tap some of these barking dogs, some rope to wrap up in drunk Mexicans on pontoon boat props. These darn wake boats piss me off. I try not to waste my time on the lake on a weekend or holiday. I prefer to do all my fishing and hunting on weekends. Got a boat last Winter and I am looking to fish some other places other than the Hiwasee and southern end of Chickamauga Lake. If you wanted to catch Striper, which lake/dam area would you hit this time of year?
