Today we make 4 of these bottoms that weigh 3lb each. I talk through each one and show them from 3 different angles. In another video I will show the tops being added. Intro music: www.bensound.com/royalty-free...
Inspirational, thoughtful on our behalf by showing us all angles and so good to show students too. It doesn't matter what time of year or period in history your videos will always be relevant. I was surprised to see how thin you threw before bellying out!! I'd lose it. Any tips you might offer? I love the two part pots and have been making some. Thank you again, Matt.
I liked the overhead view - I could see what you were doing with your hands better. And thanks for keeping us entertained while we are doing our civic isolation duty. 😊
love this video Matt, great throwing as usual and tutoring too. You made this right at the beginning of the pandemic, no one new what was coming aye> what about some different shaped basis?
Thanks for the video and providing some mental distraction from the craziness in the world today! I'm always amazed by your talent and getting such big pieces from relatively small amounts of clay (to me....lol). I liked the top view but only for a pot or two....maybe. I always like to see the profile of the pot taking shape but you can't have both from watching a video but today we got just that! :) Does that clay have grog in it and I guess that helps with larger, thinner pieces? May you and your family stay safe and healthy. Cheers
Matt - Really appreciate the different angles, wish more people would do that, watching from up above is great! I so admire the beautiful round forms you are throwing here, that's a challenge I've been working at for some time now, good to see how you manage to achieve that, and to try to replicate what you're doing - thanks so much for the guidance!
Great video. Thanks for keeping us inspired while we flatten the curve. For future vids, could you share more of your glazing tips and recipes? Tips on using slips and glaze layering (without giving up trade secrets) are really helpful.
I like the multiple camera angles. The overhead view is great for instructional purposes. The side angles are nice, for just watching the process, as I don't get to see it from thag way, when I'm throwing.
Hi, I love your videos. So informative and you have such a nice, gentle manner about you. When will u be showing how to throw and attach the top parts? I threw a bottom along with you but want to do the top before it drys out! Thx. Jill
Thanks for the video man! Sitting here in quarantine in austria and your video is very refreshing beside all the bad news... i tell you its crazy here, stay healthy guys!
I did pull at that point but I did it with my left hand. I usually do my first pull that way with my left had as a claw. I'll try to show that off in a video in more detail. Cheers
Why don’t you start a pottery challenge to the RU-vid potters like Jon the Potter? A 3lb blindfold challenge and others have to meet your height and shape. That would entertain us all right now.
