Thrustmaster is one of the oldest companies in sim racing products. The T-Gt represents the best wheel that Thrustmaster has ever made. It features an ultra smooth motor stronger than previous wheels made by them.
The T-GT also comes with features optimized for GT Sport. With a new transducer built into the wheel base that offers another dimension of feedback and road vibrations.
The T-GT comes as a complete kit ready to race on the PC or the PS4. It comes with a wheel base, a wheel rim exclusive to the T-GT, a set of T3PGT pedals and all of the needed cables to plug it in.
In this review we tell you everything that you need to know about the T-GT. Is it better than the T300 or TX? How is it different than the TS_PC or the TS_XW? You will get those answers in this review.

15:08 rocking those odd socks :p ps. thanks for the review. bottom line I would have considered this if the pedal set was of genuinely high quality. As it stands, I'm more than happy to stay with my G29 which to be honest I simply have no complaints about, especially when you consider the massive difference in price.

IF... they could sell it as a stand alone wheel (no pedals) and for the price half of what it cost now... I would buy it, no questions asked.

why would removing the pedals remove half the cost lol?
@Soulfood68
@Soulfood68 2 года назад
@@AC-wl7ve why not, it's an old product and there are infinite companies making stand alone pedals and thrustmaster knows that. So to make the product more attractive drop the pedals and lower the price...

@@AC-wl7ve Well you are right I responded to it 4 years ago. But that was how I felt when the review was made with all the hype around the wheel at the time. But regardless of that I still think it was over priced compared to other wheels... with or with out the pedals!!!

So let me get this straight, we're supposed to pay what $500 for the wheel and then $300 for GT Sport functionality? I think Thrustmaster has lost their marbles with this package. And when will they ever except that people want load cell pedals?
@MRFUCKOFF202
@MRFUCKOFF202 6 лет назад
If you're comparing to the TS-PC, you get PS4 compatability, transucer and pedals for that $300.

MRFUCKOFF202 Not comparing to anything. The wheel is not worth more than $500 tops. If you want to compare then look at the CSL Elite PS4. Better wheel and comes with load cell for $630.

Darren Cunningham Not worth it at all for me. Already have the T3PA Pro pedals, so I'd end up with another pedal set I wouldn't use. Has a transducer and switches only usable in a game I don't play, and it offers me nothing elsw my TS-PC Racer doesn't already do.

Great job Shaun! I agree, they need to up their game with their pedals. If Fanatec pedals were sold in "box" stores I think Thrustmater would have no choice but to innovate, but they have an edge getting their product to the masses.

I have this wheel and in my opinion currently it's worth $600 because of the fact the dials and transducer only work with GT Sport on PS4. If they become compatible with all other racing games on PS4 it will then be worth every bit of that $799.99 price tag. I do play GT Sport and it is fantastic with that game.

None of you reviewers of this wheel have mentioned a problem with the wheel locking nut on this wheel. It comes loose after a while from the beating it gets from the force feedback. If you look carefully at the method used, to lock the nut use will see two things, the screw that is used to lock the nut, looks like somebody drilled a random hole and screwed in a wood screw. It is obvious that this was not part of the original design but was an after thought to solve a problem. Looking at the underside of the nut you will see a ratchet feature molded in the face with no obvious purpose. I think they had a design that didn’t work, scrapped the idea and added a screw as a last resort. So, the design of the nut is a hack job and needs a more sophisticated solution. They used a too delicate electrical connector on the wheel. There are more robust versions available that they could have used. A note for people trying to connect the wheel, if they look, they will see a key in the middle of the electrical connector and a mating hole on the other connecting part line these up when assembling to eliminate causing damage.

11:55 - it is just to screw tighter (few degress tighter) this ring of the wheel and that is it, for 100% there should be not any looseness.

Is your FOV set correctly mate? I know its personal preference but I think if you moved the camera in a bit closer to the dash, you would have more control of the car. I noticed this in all you cars, but especially in the F1 game you are sitting very very far away. Thats cant help your natural instincts for turn in points. I noticed as soon as I got my FOV set better it felt like I had the front axel in my hands. Thats the best way I can describe it and not only lap times dropped, but also I make less mistakes. Maybe you like it as it is, but maybe you haven't actually tried many other options? Don't mean to preach lol Great review btw! 👍🏼😜🏁

At 6:57 you can see the springs are very heavily coated in some kind of nearly clear "grease" or silicone or something. What is it? Why is it there? Do you have rusting problems of your springs? I have owned several sets of Thrustmaster pedals, none of mine had copious amounts of grease on them. None of mine ever rusted. The only problem with them is the potentiometers are junk and don't last. No amount of cleaning fixes them, they just die. Is this some sort of a trick to save them? I just don't see any point to the greasing of the springs. It will attract dust and hair...
@matthijsborgdorff7766
@matthijsborgdorff7766 6 лет назад
SpatialDragon My T500 pedals also have copious amounts of grease on the springs. I think it's to avoid squeaking and possibly breaking. I've had springs break on mine twice now but TM offers replacements. Have had the wheel pretty much since it came out. This set uses compression springs though, where the T500 uses two torsion springs per pedal.
@JohnGeorgeHill

Shaun didn't put the grease there obviously, so blame Thrustmaster.

@galliewokgaming4244 6 лет назад
MRFUCKOFF202 Sorry, hadn't notice price changes on Fanatec site. Not sure where you're looking to see $773, but at Fanatec site, CSL Elite PS4 bundle is $499.95 and $129.95 for the load cell pedal add-on. $630 for a much better product.
@MRFUCKOFF202

$773 is the base/wheel + CSL E pedals, I didn't know the load cell kit added a 3rd pedal and so ignored it.

$800 is way to pricey a wheel not worth more than $450.
@galliewokgaming4244
@galliewokgaming4244 6 лет назад
MRFUCKOFF202 You really need to rethink where you're getting your price quotes. CSL Elite PS4 comes bundled with a 2 pedal set for $499.95. And can add a load cell brake for $130. The transducer only works for GT Sport on PS4. Polyphony and Sony financed this wheel and there's no clear word if the transducer will work with any other game, so that makes it a non-variable.
@MRFUCKOFF202
@MRFUCKOFF202 6 лет назад
So that makes it $656 including postage which is $206 more than you think the T-GT is worth with its transducer (no you can't just dismiss it because you exclusively play PS4 but not GT). To be fair, I couldn't find anywhere selling the T-GT under $722 in the USA in which case the Fanatec is better value, but in the UK there are several shops selling the T-GT for £540-556 and the CSL E package you described is £624. Regardless $450 for the T-GT is too cheap.
@krazeytrucker
@krazeytrucker 6 лет назад
MRFUCKOFF202 The CSL Elite is a better product, so regardless of any scenario, it's the better purchase. The transducer is very dismissable because I, like most people who purchase wheels, use PC as my racing platform. Console use is negligible. In the U.S., shipping costs are always a factor, unless the merchant offers free shipping, because stores don't carry force feedback wheel in the stores. Online ordering is the only way to purchase unless you buy secondhand from another person locally. CSL Elite is the better purchase. And if that's to expensive, then the T300 should be the choice.
@galliewokgaming4244
@galliewokgaming4244 6 лет назад
MRFUCKOFF202 If the price differences are that drastic in the UK, then I would recommend the T300 RS Alcantara package if you need PS4 support. Better and larger wheel, basically the same pedal set and a capable servo.
@MRFUCKOFF202
@MRFUCKOFF202 6 лет назад
It's slightly smoother is the only way the base it is better. If you don't use the PS4 then you should be comparing to the TS-XW which is the same price (RRP) as the CSL E with arguably a better rim but no load cell. You need to recognise Thrustmaster has inflated RRPs whereas Fanatec doesn't.

the comment section is strong with fanatec fan boys who are like iphone users. have no clue what they are actually buying and cant tell you the driving mechanism of their wheel etc, otherwise they would know they just paid 900$ for a belt driven wheel with a slightly bigger motor producing extra force they will never actually use lol.
@esk_71
@esk_71 6 лет назад
Sim Racing Girl also mentioned the notchiness of this wheel. That's disappointing at this price point. I run a T300 and over time, the locking mechanism has become loose to the point where my wheel doesn't attach securely to the base. The T-GT uses the same locking mechanism which tells me that over time, it will develop the same looseness I have now. Again, that's pretty bad for an $800 wheel. I agree with another commentor that the price needs to drop and it should be offered without the pedals. The pedals that came with my T300 have been sitting in the box since new, I've never used them. I didn't like being forced to buy a packaged set then and I don't like it now.
@daenger66
@daenger66 6 лет назад
I had that same looseness on my T500RS. After tightening the screws in the hub, it is much better now. I would search out some RU-vid videos on exactly how to do this. I fixed it once quite awhile ago and it is still tight.

Thrustmaster is falling into the same hole that Logitech did. they are offering the same wheel base with an upgraded look and asking a premium price for it. IMO the T-GT is way over priced. I race on a T300RS and when I first bought it I liked that it was part of the Thrustmaster Ecosystem and I could get other wheel rims and pedals and shifters, However Thrustmaster has now backed themselves into a corner. They are in a spot where to make a wheel base that compares to other offerings they need to change the Thrustmaster QR, thus loosing ecosystem compatability. At this point there is far to much "Value" ie (people are more likely to buy equipment that they can retain and add on too) for Thrusmaster to do that. For anyone that is already in or thinking about getting into the Thrustmaster ecosystem (and im here with you T300RS, TH8A Shifter, T3PA Pro Pedals though im using fanatic CSV3 pedals now) how much are you willing to invest and still be ok with starting over? There will come a point for Thrustmaster (Sooner rather than later) where Revolution over Repetition will be outside of the current TS ecosystem.

It's overpriced belt-driven crap that's priced WAY too close to DD territory to even take it seriously. At least Fanatec's CSW has really nice design and the range of rims in the ecosystem are very nicely made. But this? Same awful, cheap TX style 'quick release', same all plastic shell. Fanatec at least gives you aluminum and a nice viewing window plus a real quick release system. This? No...just hell to the no.
