good video mate, i had already ordered one (having watched some other videos first) but by far this one showed how it worked the best especially how it locks to the towball
It's pretty good.Used it for the first time yesterday with a thin top bar gravel bike. A bit of adaption-as mentioned-needed for a thicker tubed MB.It does go on and off in seconds.
This is really interesting, I drive a saloon car so I’ve got to go with the roof bars....it’s ok with my road bike but trying to lift a mountain bike up there is impossible (I usually need to get my husband or one of my sons to help me).....Id always recommend Thule any day.though. I used a cheaper version and my bike fell off on several occasions 🙄
Yes...my mountain bike is heavy and I wouldn't want to be lugging it up on a car roof. This rack seems a quick alternative which goes on and off in seconds. As mentioned in the video, those roof mounted jobs always look like an accident waiting to happen to me!
The bendy rubberised straps I believe I got from Wilco (Wilkinsons) if you're in the UK. That was a while ago mind. Not sure if they still have them but they're a lot better than bungee cords!
Tnx for very useful video, I'm planning to buy it. Can you tell me what's the distance between these two horisontal arms, end to end, so that I can compare it with my bike's top tube? Tnx.
Hi. What's the yeti like as a bike carrier if you remove all the rear seats? Just wondering if that's a better option for me (zoning in on a yeti). Thanks
Yes you should hang a reg number where it is visible. To be honest. I've used it locally in the rural area where I live and haven't bothered-me bad!- but if I was going a distance I would.
@@blackdogwildtrails3123 Thanks. I have the exact same car ( but no tow bar) and have measured and remeasured, but MTB wont go in with the wheels attached. Even taking the front wheel off its not easy as I have a rear pannier rack so I cant wheel it in upside down. So Ill probably have to go for something like what you have.
@@user-ck6kq8zl2i Yes...I can't get an MB in the back. Even with the seats out, that's why I used the basic tailgate type before. I don't know what age your Yeti is but mine is a 13 and came with a removable tow bar in the boot which just slots and locks into place. You have to take off a plastic cover underneath off to expose the 'hole' where it slots into.
@@blackdogwildtrails3123 Ah ok. Well that would be a real bonus if its there on mine. Its actually in the garage at the mo for a wiper issue but when it comes out I'll have a look underneath. Mines a 2016 elegance but I wouldn't expect the detachable tow bar gubbins underneath to be necessarily standard spec. Does yours also have a pin connector to attach an electrical circuit to the number plate attached to the bike?
@@blackdogwildtrails3123 Hi again, can I just ask has your tow bar set up got a cut out in the bumper? I had a look underneath and if I lie on my baxk there is a black square cover about 8 inches square nrxt to the exhaust back box...I just thought Id ask if thats the cover you meant before I start unscrewing that off. Cheers.
Not on my car and I couldn't see how you could open a flat back tail gate with the rack attached. A saloon on the other hand and I couldn't see a problem.
I have this bike rack and my bike sticks out more on one side than it does the other cant seam to get it to sit level so constantly looking in the mirror to make sure the bike's whel is not overhanging the pavement or going to hit a mirror off a parked car wish i never got this bike rack its nothing but a pain in the ....
I've not noticed any change. I used it last week with a heavy eBike on it. For peace of mind you can always use a couple of compression straps if you have roof rails on the vehicle to secure the bike.
Merci pour la vidéo, je n'ai pas réussi à trouver les attaches caoutchouc flexibles que vous utilisez, avez-vous un lien de vente, par exemple Amazon ou Aliexpress ?
