Loved video. I have an Ebike and my husband said this rack is not for my Ebike, but now after watching this video he just didn’t know how to move the arms to hold the bike. This was very helpful.
Thanks for this great video, that's all I needed to get it installed. How hard do you have to tighten the wobble knob? It gives the impression I could turn until it breaks. TIA
Hey its been 11 months, have you had any issues with the rack? I would be maxing out the weight limit even with batteries removed so I am hesitant. Please let me know.
I’m a bit surprised you put the Aventon on there since the Thule weight capacity is 65 lbs (per bike) and the Aventon weighs 73lbs. Removing the battery saves weight but I’ve steered clear of this rack because my Rad bikes are 67lbs each without batteries. I was leaning towards 1Up since it’s off-road rated as well.
I wanted to see how the carrier tilts away from the hatch with two bikes on it. Does it take two people: one to release the latch from the front and another to restrain the bikes from tipping too fast?
So for a grand you right off the bat need to buy add ons to carry an e bike. I just bought one of these without this knowledge. I will be taking it back the 1st of the week. I am not impressed by any means with this carrier. I had to fight to get it up that tiny ramp & then the straps were too small.
I still cannot wrap my head around the fact you not having to have additional license plate and lights on carrier like that. In Europe, that is mandatory, as light seems to to be important there :)
