How to install the rubber wind diffuser t track strip on the Eve WingBars Part Code - 1500052989 Available Here - www.goodeleisure.com/thule-evo-wingbars-rubber-strip-wind-diffuser--pair-9553-p.asp
Spent about half an hour pondering how to fit these and concluding that 'surely they must pull apart' but needed more than just a gentle tug! Why oh why did the Thule box or instructions not indicate this!!!? Thanks for confirming, I've put my Stanley knife away!
So glad you done this video as I brought this last year ago and took me hours as the poxy instructions didn’t say cut it in half.. but through frustration I pulled it apart and voila it worked.. really done my head in, we’ll done fella 👏🏻
Thank you! I'm so amazing that most everything Thule does not include instructions or minimal instructions that still make installation more complicated then need be. So thankful for people who take the time to share their secrets.
Djeeeeezzzz, I was almost as far as hurrling the whole collection of Thule parts out of the window and cancelling my holliday, just because of these rubber strips from Hell. Only to find out you needed to split these. Thule should give you a livetime supply of roofracks.
I RU-vid’d it approx 3 min after looking at it because I thought I was sent the wrong one and wanted to see a video of a different rubber piece…come to find out…you rip it in half….mind blown.
I had been told by the dealer (who also told me it took them a long time to working out the ripping apart), still helpful as the actual fitting is explained. Many thanks for reducing my stress level.
Thank you for the video! The question now arises to me, if I want to insert, for example my vertical supports or my loading aid to the kayak transport in the T-slot profile from the sides: Would I remove the rubbers again? And if I only need the base support, reinstall the rubbers? They fit so tight and don't look like they could be taken out and in anytime. But, with the rubbers in the profile, the other metal parts cannot be attached in the T-Nut. Does anyone have experience with this and could give me a tip? Glad about answers!
Ty for this …it’s a pain to install, especially if there’s a tiny kink in the strips. I can’t get it perfectly in / flush. There’s NO REASON why Thule can pre-assemble this …other than cost and logistics.
Mine already have the rubber straps in them(wingbar evo) and have two ~15 inch pieces of rubber. The instructions say "cut the rubber pieces to the length of the bar, but those rubber pieces are already there. Thule instructions could not be less helfpul.
Is "Thule" Norwegian for "idiot?" Because only an idiot would think it's OK to omit the all-important Step One from the instructions. Thanks for the video! If not for your help, I'd still be trying to figure out how to install the rubber strips. (I can only imagine what important steps they have omitted from the rest of the instructions...)
