Here is a cool little video of the re launch of our XSV20 Thunder Child II, stunning in gold and her speed trials reaching 54kts, with some beautiful Ariel drone footage, hope you enjoy it.
Amazing work as always, really looking forward to future videos, the hours of planning, building and testing are really a testament to your devotion to the product.
Please bring it to the Solent this winter when it’s flat (like today...). We’ve seen our new aircraft carriers enter and leave Portsmouth Harbour, just stunning. We've seen Sir Ben's Ineos Britannia barrel down the Solent at over 30kts in a 12kt true breeze. That truly is an amazing sight. Come and and make our day with a flyby from the Needles on an easterly run past Lymington, Cowes and Portsmouth then exit past the Nab and return home round the back of the Isle of Wight. Just a thought 🤓🤓
Nah our 16th century Admiral beat the English fleet by just being smart about it. He always kept his hull clean to gain speed. To gain even more speed? Yea everyone lube up the hull with butter! Not too hard to imagine the new protoype ships with air lubricated hulls make this thing look like it's pretty darn slow. Stupidly simple. Small holes in the hull and pump air through and done. Way better then butter ...
Frank, you’re leaving money on the table if you aren’t pushing the Thunder Child to be the perfect catalyst for a “Thunder In Paradise” TV series re-boot 😂. Love the work and innovation you guys put in- Fair winds and following seas!
I liked the watertight rollover capability of th he earlier model. This one looks a lot wider, hence is is self righting during a capsize? That is a nice feature if you don't have a rescue ship nearby.
A good demo of this boat would be to make it race a Maxi mulhull sailing race boat... Just being able to follow one at speed would be a great publicity.
Q) 4 u regarding the modification under the hull with hydrofoil. Was that positioned there 2 assist the boat with better planing capablities & 2 give her a better attitude thru bigger waves 2 stop the diving thru the waves & 2 stop the porpoise like issues thru rough stuff. More even. Gr8 👀👀 rig. Think'in out side the box. Cheers if u have ⏰ 2 respond. Regards Robert Australia
Listening to the roar of those awesome engines I can say with 100% certitude that the Greta Thunberg crowd 100% disapproves of this fossil fueled engineering marvel.
It is a bit outdated technology but it is what works best for this purpose right now and it does sound good. So, ...yeah..., you are wrong with your 100% assumptions. :P
Aunt Gertrude used to complain about having to support Uncle Smitty’s thunder child. It wasn’t a boat though. Apparently there’s a cousin I’ve never met.
Congratulations to the beauty and capabilities of your ship(s). Both, armed forces and civilians would be lucky to get your ship(s). One point, no-one mentioned (or tried) before. Have you think throught some air-drone applications, interesting for your ship? Civilian search and rescue VTOL drone, capable to drop a floating device (vest or bigger) and than drag a limited number of persons. Or military dron? Armed even? BTW, kamikaze drones are almost as dangerous to the ship, as the rocket proppeled granades are. But when used on your side, you can bombard coastline, target point targets, another boats, or even helicopters.
@@Alex-gg8rt less drag. The entire prop shaft is out of the water with only the blade at the bottom in the water. obviously spinning so each blade is taking its turn transmitting the power to the water. I am sure there are many videos on Arneson Surface drives. They have been around a long time.
Good afternoon. Autumn is a great project.!!! Can you make a similar one for Baikal? size 8-10m. I hope for cooperation. Irkutsk Andrey. Russia. Thanks.
