My full run of Thunder Force II Hard mode for the Sega Genesis. This is NOT a No Miss run but very close to one. Be sure to Check out my Shield Resurrection trick on Stage 9..lol and Yes that trick works on the Horizontal stages too....:)
No cheats no saves not tool assisted.
Thunder Force II actually was made in 1988 for a computer system named Sharp X68000. This game is a port of the Sharp X68000 version and is the second version to the original with missing stages backgrounds and voices. But this version has better weapons (IMO).
After the ending sequence: (FYI: After you beat the game it allows you to choose any stage to play...:))

One of the earlier Genesis titles that I fondly remember. Loved that popping/radiation sound that all the enemies made when you were affecting them with your weapons. Iconic classic!

Damn, I stiil have this game, with box, manual in good condition. Man, this brings me back, i hated how i couldnt pass the pyramid stage?...man, you made me smile, especially how you are passing this. It made my day. Memories

Thunder Force is probably, in my opinion, one of the best shooters. Graphics, music, and game play are all steller. Next on the list is R-Type, and the odd jewel, Vapor Trail.

Thunder Force 2 allows you to beat it on Normal difficulty, but not Training. No need to set it to hard in either the JP or US version.

Yeah, I'll never forget the effect tf2 had on me as a teenager. It was my first 16 bit shmup after life force, asteroids, galaga etc. And it blew me away especially the music. I borrowed it and forgotten worlds from a friend for golden axe and some other game I had at the time, it was weird because I'd probably never bought it straight out for myself but then I was hooked. Lol Now I try to decide which ones I like best because R TYPE was a big one for me too I like it 2nd it's like TF is My American Werewolf and R TYPE is my Howling.

The best weapon to use against the main drive of Plealos (or is that Preareos?) is the Laser. If you can time it so you zip down the groove in between the drive's laser blasts it isn't a lot harder to avoid the dual-shots from the two unshootable turrets on its side. Just hover over the engine as you fire at it with Laser and it will blow in about three seconds!

Sick run dude. Did you do this on an emulator or original hardware? Also, do you use the regular Genesis controller or a arcade stick?

How do you get so far? This game is super hard! It's very fun but frustrating. I can't get past level 4 in a,run and the combo of stage 4 and 5 kills all my continues! !!

Just by putting the time in. This was one of the first games I got for the Genesis back in 89 before that I was a NES Gradius and Life Force shmup player.

I coudn't get thru da 1st stage cuz i didn't kno where ALL da bases @ & they keep fuckin me up!! But u did a good job on it, though... now i gotta get my space shooter skills up, lol!!

Hi Kirgeez it was a good run for real have u tried to time yourself on the up stages i can do them pretty fast also & yeah Nova is so broken the bosses stand no chance.

Never timed myself. I just look for the no miss if possible. I see videos where people play for time and get ridiculous points scores but they also have losses which don't count IMHO.

***** the up stages u can do them in some stupid fast times we are kinda both the same on this game but with different ways cos i never thought i'd find anyone who liked this game like myself Normally can do stage 1 in 51 secs - Stage 3 33 secs - Stage 51 secs stage 7 1.02

Hard to believe I beat this game as a kid. Since I lost all my games over the years, I picked this cart up for a few bucks at my local gaming store. I SUCK at this game now!
