Thanks Tasty and I’m glad you liked it 🩷 and I always appreciate you watchn’ and taking the time to write I recently found a spare sleeve and piston set for the Pro15 soooo, I may work the engine into a future vintage build. I feel better about running it, if I can get some more spare parts to rebuild/service the engine down the road. Time will tell - I have to give the “whole collection vid” some more thought 😋 I’m glad you’re interested in it though

@@a2rc I didn’t know thunder tiger were making the magnum engines. The Kyosho’s gp10 cars normally came with a os max 10fp engine in there kits but i remember there was an upgrade engine for the gp10 which was a magnum .10 abc engine with pull start 🤔
@a2rc
@a2rc 5 месяцев назад
@@David-069 It is very possible that manufactures were copying/borrowing each other in many ways (names, styles, etc). Seems to have been happening for years. - It also gets messy when other manufactures make components/engines for other companies. Things start to look very similar lol and at times you don’t know what came first. The chicken or the egg 😅 - I definitely do not know all the history on Kyosho, TT, AE, etc but, I do enjoy continuing to learn and share what I know

Hi. 5:56 So rotostart (and/or pullstart) was a marketing mistake? Asking out of academic interest. I don't have any opinion on this matter. But the starter box is still a box, and a big heavy one. Thanks for the video! Great as usual!
@a2rc
@a2rc 5 месяцев назад
That’s a great question 💯 - They all have their place for sure. All have Pros and Cons. I prefer bump start on everything if I can get it. In some cases (depending on design of the chassis) it’s not really possible to use bump. - Pull start engines help folks “get into” the hobby so, they have one less then to buy and gets the job done. But, I’m sure you have experienced that pull starts can be hard on your hands and isn’t very affective at times - Roto start kinda helps with that but, again it is one more then to break/fail and adds extra weight, etc. It all comes down to preference, experience and they type of tools and accessories you have for the hobby and the model you are working with. I hope that helps a bit and I very much appreciate you taking the time to write and for watchn’ 🩷
@n00b247
@n00b247 5 месяцев назад
@@a2rc Well I have experienced Pull Start being destroyed by a seized cylinder and Roto Start destroying both cylinder and sleeve. What do you think about Traxxas Ez Start with 550 12T? A good alternative for a Starter Box? Maybe explaining all this might be a good topic for a short video.
@a2rc
@a2rc 5 месяцев назад
@@n00b247 The best thing I would suggest to everyone is to pre-heat every engine, every time you want to start it. - Makes things a bit easier to start and helps to keep the engine happy You could up grade the EZ start but, with all the added wires, electric motor, added weight and complexity, it’s not exactly a replacement for a bump box. I know what you mean though. - If you wanted to keep the EZ start then, upgrading it would be good, just try and pre-heat your engine if you can Maybe in time, making a vid on all the pros and cons between all or some of the most common starting systems, would be good. Thanks for the great questions
