On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

I am Pakistani I have some friends in PAF. They say Maintenance and reliability of F16 is unmatched although they admit that Jf 17 latest block 3 matches F 16MLUs performance in terms of avionics and electronics. Nice to see your video. Are these both aircraft in the same markings???

PAF is using older version of F-16s and even latest block 3 model of jf-17 can not replace f-16 as they are superior in almost all aspects.

@@sourabhgupta4853 I think they have some F-16 Block 50s and 52s as well if I am not mistaken. That being said all the F-16 in Pakistani Airforce are very capable which goes without saying. The older ones are more agile iirc

Jf17 was designed to replace aging f7 and mirages it is supposed to be a cost effective cheap cost and cheap to maintain fighter and it's alot cheaper than a new f16

Thanks so much GS, I remember I requested this from you and you are kind enough to oblige. Really wanted to see what these two planes could do against each other, as the JF-17 was designed based on the F-16 but without an equivalent powerful engine available they had to improvise.

The JF-17 has more modern avionics in some regards, however, you pay forwhat you get in the F-16. Block 2 JF-17 is an 8g, Mach 1.6 jet while the F-16C Block 52 is a 9g Mach 2.1 jet. The F-16 boasts a MUCH better thrust to weight, sustained turn rate, and payload capacity. The JF-17 block 3 will put it on par with the F-16, while at a much lower cost. It is also important to note that F-16s are easily upgraded with the latest gadgets like AESA radars and IRST. Just because the F-16 is old doesn't mean it's outdated. They are both 4th gen airplanes being upgraded to 4+ gen.

GS was on the wrong end of a similar maneuver when he took the JF-17 against an F-15. It shows up in his Moments of Death Compilations, complete with goat scream as it points its nose and shoots him in the face.

Gunfight in a Jeff doesn’t make much of a sense when u know it’s not for air to air role, you explained it really well and F 16 got better engine with better thrust to weight ratio as well.

The F-16 is just a category of its own. Both aestheticially and technically. A true legend. A fighters pilot fighter. I was in love in that feminine shape of the F-16 since I was 8, since I first saw the Iron Eagle.. It's basically the SEXiest fighter in an entire Aviation History!

Watching you flex your defensive muscles in a disadvantage situation was very nice to watch. How fast your training came back to keep him off you while you flew his fight and still overcame is impressive. It would be cool to see you in a conversation with some pilots from agressor squadrons here in the States. See how fast they offer you a sim instructor position!

Rudder is your best friend when flying the JF17. If slow, it can do some crazy Hornet like stuff with the rudder. Have to time. It right and flip the nose right on the bandit.

I've always wondered... are the F-16 or other jets able to aim the gun within some narrow band? So, you'd point the nose, get him in the hud, and within some tenths of one degree through the effective range, the guns can adjust to give you a little more accuracy. Or is raw nose position the only way to "aim" guns? I always thought it was the latter, but in some of these videos, it seems like you shouldn't be able to hit him through nose position and still do, as though there is some mechanical adjustment of the gun besides raw nose position. Maybe you could give us a class in using guns on a western fighter like F-16, understanding the HUD elements, etc.

Gun is fixed. But the radar gives a solution to shoot depending on the distance to target. At least that's how the f18 works. Pretty sure f16 is same

If you look at it for long enough, the jf-17 just looks like a F-5E or F-20 with bigger leading edge extensions, it's very aerodynamically simple compared to an F-16 or F-15
